It depends on the type of switch that you have.  Managed switches have a web-based setup page while unmanaged switches are typically plug and play.

4.  How do I connect the computer to the network switch?

To connect your computer to the network switch, your computer must be equipped with a network interface card or a network adapter such as an internal PCI card (for desktop computers), a PC card or a USB Ethernet adapter (for notebook computers).  Simply connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the main router and the other end to any of the Ethernet ports at the back of the switch.  Make sure that the LED light corresponding to the port number on the switch where the router is connected is lit.

NOTE:  If the LED indicator is not lit, try using another cable.  If the issue still exists, check the status of your computer's network adapter.  To check if your network adapter is working properly, click here.
