Setting up the Belkin N150 Wireless Router, F9K1009

The Belkin N150 Wireless Router, F9K1009 is a router/access point (AP), which operates on 2.4 GHz frequency conforming to the IEEE 802.11b/g/n wireless standards.  The product is designed for a small office/home office setup and can be configured using a web browser.

Step 1:
Unplug the modem.

Step 2:
Using an Ethernet cable, connect the modem to the router’s WAN or Internet port.

Then, plug the router and the modem to the power source.

NOTE:  Skip this part and proceed to configure the router if you are not trying to set up the router wirelessly.
 
Step 1:
Flip the router and check the label.  Take note of the wireless Network Name (SSID) and Password.
 
Step 2:
Connect your computer or wireless device to the router’s network.

Configuring the router

 
Step 1:
Launch a web browser like Internet Explorer®.

Step 2:
Enter https://router or the router's default IP Address, 192.168.2.1, in the Address bar and press [Enter].  To know how to check your router's IP Address, click here.


Step 3:
The router’s Dashboard will be displayed.  Click Detect my connection.

Your router will check for any available updates on its firmware.  Once a new update is detected, it will download the new firmware.

Step 4:
Personalize your Network Name and Password.  Then, click Save and Continue.

NOTE:  You may use your old Network Name and Password to allow your wireless devices to connect right away.

Step 5:
It will now display the personalized Network Name and Password you have entered earlier.  Click the Great, what’s next? button.

Step 6:
Register your router by providing the needed information below.  Then, click Complete Registration.

You should now have successfully configured your Belkin F9K1009.
