Checking the computer’s IP address on a Windows 8, 8.1, or 10 operating system

Checking the computer’s IP address is a process to verify if it is getting the correct IP address from the router.  This will also determine if the computer is properly connected to the network.
 
To check the computer's IP address with a Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 operating system, follow the steps below:

Windows 10
Windows 8 / 8.1

Step 1:
Right-click the Network User-added image icon located on the bottom-right corner of the Desktop screen, then click Open Network and Sharing Center.

Step 3:
Click Local Area Connection to view the Ethernet Status.

Step 4:
Click Details… to view the Network Connection Details.

The Network Connection Details will be displayed.
 
NOTE:  The IPv4 Address is your computer's IP address.

Step 5:
Click Close after viewing the Network Connection Details of your computer.
Step 1:
Press the Windows User-added image key + D on your keyboard to show the Desktop.
 
Step 2:
Right-click the Network User-added image icon located on the bottom-right corner of the Desktop screen, then click Open Network and Sharing Center.

Step 3:
Click Ethernet to view the Ethernet Status.

Step 4:
Click Details… to view the Network Connection Details.

The Network Connection Details will be displayed.
 
NOTE:  The IPv4 Address is your computer's IP address.
