TWO (2) LIGHTNING CONNECTORS

1. What happens if I plug two (2) sets of Lightning Audio Headphones into the RockStar™?

Only the first set of headphones you connect will work.

2. If I plug two (2) USB to Lightning Charge Cables into the RockStar, will my iPhone® charge faster?

Only the first charge cable you connect will work.

3. Does it matter which connector I use for Audio and which one for charging?

It doesn’t matter which connector you use. Both connectors can be used for Lightning Audio and Charging.

4. Is one Lightning Connector faster than the other?

Both connectors charge at the same speed.

AUDIO CONTROLS

1. Will the remote control on the EarPods® with Lightning Connector work when using the RockStar?

Yes. It will also work when using Apple EarPods with 3.5 mm Headphone Plug with the Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter.

2. Does the microphone on the EarPods with Lightning Connector work when using the RockStar?

Yes. It will also work when using Apple EarPods with 3.5 mm Headphone Plug with the Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter.

3. Can I use my 3.5 mm jack headphones with the RockStar?

Yes, with the Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter.

4. Can I use other brand (non-Apple) Lightning Audio headphones with the RockStar?

All compatible Lightning Audio headphones are supported.

5. Will my music sound as good through the RockStar?

Yes, the sound quality is the same as directly plugging into the iPhone / iPad’s Lightning Connector. The quality of audio output using the RockStar (up to 24-bit / 48 kHz) is the same as the maximum specification of any compatible Lightning Audio headphones.

COMPATIBILITY

1. Can I use the RockStar with my iPhone 6?

Yes, all iPhones from iPhone 5s onwards are supported (iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus).

NOTE: iPhone 5 is not supported.

2. Can I use the RockStar with my iPad®?

Yes, as long as it runs iOS 10 or later.

NOTE: iPad mini™ does not support iOS 10. iPad 4 with Retina Display is not supported.

3. Can I use the RockStar with an iPhone in a protective case?

Yes.

4. Can I use the RockStar with a portable battery pack?

Yes

5. Can I use the RockStar with the Apple iPhone 7 Smart Battery Case?

Yes.

6. Can I use the RockStar with other battery cases?

The Lightning Connector on current third party battery cases only supports power and not audio. You can still use them to charge your iPhone but you won’t have access to audio. The Apple iPhone 7 Smart Battery Case is currently the only one that supports both charging and audio.

7. Can I use the RockStar to connect to a USB device like a camera?

The RockStar does not support daisychaining of Apple Lightning adapters such as Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter, Lightning Digital AV adapter, and Lightning to VGA Adapter. Only the Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter is supported.

8. Can I use the RockStar to sync my iPhone/iPad to another device?

The RockStar delivers power in to your iPhone/iPad, and Audio out. It does not support syncing or any other USB data, or similar protocol like Serial or UART. It only supports Lightning Audio.

SAFETY

1. Is the RockStar certified by Apple?

The product has been certified by Apple’s MFi program, which confirms it has been designed to connect specifically to iPhone or iPad, and has been certified by the developer to meet Apple specifications.

2. Has the RockStar been tested to ensure high standards of performance and safety?

In addition to MFi (see previous question), the RockStar receives all standard agency certifications, complies with FCC regulations (see insert in box), and meets Belkin quality standards across the board in manufacturing, performance and safety.
