Creating a Schedule Rule on the Wemo App

The Schedule Rule is the most basic Rule available for controlling your Wemo® device.  This Rule will turn your Wemo ON and OFF at a time and duration of your choosing.

This article will guide you on creating a Schedule Rule for your Wemo device.


NOTE:  Wemo App images may vary depending on the device (iOS or Android™) being used. 

 
Step 1:  Launch the User-added image App.  

Step 2:  Tap Rules.

Step 3:  Tap the + button to create a Rule.

Step 4:  Tap Schedule.

Step 5:   Under TURN ON/OFF, choose the device you want this Rule to control.
 
Step 6:  Select among On until time, On or Off.  Refer below for the time Rules:
  • On until timeTurns ON and OFF at a specified time.
  • On – Turns ON at a specified time.  The device will stay ON until manually turned OFF or until a new Rule begins to activate.
  • Off – Turns OFF at a specified time.  The device will stay OFF until manually turned ON or until a new Rule begins to activate.

Step 7: Under WHEN, tap On/Off to set the time and day the Rule will function. 
  • By Time  User-added image – Choose the Clock icon to select a specific start time and days this Rule will take effect.

  • By Sunrise / Sunset  User-added image  – Choose the Sun icon to set the Sunset and Sunrise of your area in control of the Rule.  When using this option, you can choose to have the Rule trigger exactly at the Sunrise / Sunset or at a time before or after Sunrise / Sunset.

Step 8:  Tap Done.

Step 9:  Tap New Rule Name and enter your preferred Rule name.

Step 10:  Tap Save to save the Rule name.

Step 11:  Then, tap Save to add the rule.

Your new rule will be added to the list.

NOTE:  A single Rule can be created to control multiple Wemo devices at the same time.  This means you can have a Rule to turn ON all of your Wemo devices at a certain time of the day.  For more information, click here.
