How to Properly Use Your Belkin 5-Port USB-C Hub (AVC021) and Troubleshoot Common Connection Issues

The Belkin 5-Port USB-C Hub with 4K HDMI (AVC021) helps expand your device’s connectivity by adding display, data, and charging ports through a single USB-C connection. While the hub is designed for plug-and-play use, some devices may require proper setup to ensure all ports function correctly. IThis guide walks you through the correct usage and simple troubleshooting steps to achieve optimal performance from your hub.

In this illustration, a USB‑C power adapter is plugged into the hub’s USB‑C PD (Power Delivery) port, and the hub is connected to the laptop.

Step 1. Connect the hub to your device

Plug the USB-C connector of the hub securely into your laptop or tablet.

Step 2. Attach your power adapter (if charging is needed)

Connect your USB-C power adapter to the hub’s USB-C power pass-through port.

Step 3. Connect your external display
Plug an HDMI cable from the hub to your monitor or TV, then select the correct HDMI input.

Step 4. Connect USB accessories

Attach devices such as a keyboard, mouse, or flash drive to the USB-A ports.

Step 5. Adjust display or device settings if necessary

Open your device’s display settings to extend or mirror your screen.

Helpful Tips in Using AVC021

1.For best results, use a 60W–100W USB‑C charger.

With a 60W adapter:

  • Up to 45W can be delivered to the laptop
  • While still powering the hub and connected devices

2. Avoid charging multiple high‑draw devices at the same time.

3. If your laptop is not charging, confirm the charger is connected to the USB‑C PD port, not a data port.

Performance reminder:
Actual charging speed depends on your laptop’s power requirements. Some laptops may charge more slowly or only maintain battery level if they require more power.

Troubleshooting Tips

  1. Make sure your device supports USB-C video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode) for HDMI functionality.
  2. Reconnect the hub after your device is fully powered on if accessories are not detected.
  3. Use your device’s original or recommended power adapter for stable pass-through charging.
  4. Avoid connecting multiple high-power devices at once to maintain optimal performance.
  5. If connections stop responding, safely disconnect and reconnect the hub to refresh the connection.
