The Belkin BOOST↑CHARGE™ UV Sanitizer + Wireless Charger, WIZ011 doubles as a 10W fast wireless charger, allowing you to charge your Qi™-enabled smartphone while you sanitize another device or nonporous items—like keys, cards, cash, and rings—at the same time.  The wireless charger is compatible with phone cases up to 3 mm thick.

2.  What is UV sanitization?

Ultraviolet (UV) sanitization employs the use of ultraviolet lights as a disinfectant for air, water, and nonporous surfaces.  The most common type of UV light used is UV-C, or ultraviolet-C, which is the highest energy portion of the UV spectrum.

3.  What is Qi™ wireless charging?

Qi, pronounced “chee”, is a wireless charging standard managed by the Wireless Power Consortium that uses metal coils to provide inductive charging to compatible devices.

4.  How long is the warranty of the Belkin WIZ011?

The Belkin WIZ011 has a 2-year limited warranty.

5.  Does Belkin WIZ011 have a Connected Equipment Warranty (CEW)?

Yes.  The Belkin WIZ011 has status lights for both the wireless charging functions and the sanitization progress.

6.  Are the lights on the outside of the Belkin WIZ011 UV lights?

No.  The only UV lights in the Belkin WIZ011 are contained inside the sanitization chamber and are only active when the lid is closed and the sanitization cycle is in process.

7.   What type of UV light does the Belkin WIZ011 use?

The Belkin WIZ011 employs UV-C lights.  The UV-C is a type of Ultraviolet light that is emitted by the sun but absorbed by the earth’s ozone layer.  UV-C is the highest energy form of UV light and is used as a disinfectant.  The UV-C rays created by the Belkin WIZ011 are contained inside the sanitization chamber only.

8.  What type of UV lamp does the Belkin WIZ011 use?

The Belkin WIZ011 uses UV-C light emitting diode (LED).

The Belkin WIZ011 uses several UV-C LED inside the sanitization chamber to destroy the outer protein layer of viruses and bacteria, rendering them inactive and no longer dangerous to humans.

The Belkin WIZ011 features two cleaning cycles, which while both being able to sanitize your devices, have different levels of effectiveness.

 
  • The 3-minute cycle will eliminate up to 97% of viruses and bacteria on the surfaces of your devices.
  • The 10-minute cycle will eliminate up to 99.99% of viruses and bacteria on the surfaces of your devices.

10.  Does the Belkin WIZ011 clean dirt off my devices while sanitizing?

No.  The Belkin WIZ011 does not physically touch devices while sanitizing.  It can only remove viruses and bacteria using the UV lights.

11.  How do I start and stop sanitizing with the Belkin WIZ011?

The Belkin WIZ011 has a button on the front of the charger that can be used to start and stop the sanitization cycles.

The sanitization cycle will stop immediately.

13.  Are there any side effects of using the UV sanitization with my devices?

With prolonged use, UV-C light may cause discoloration of fabrics, plastics, and other materials placed inside the sanitization chamber.

14.  What happens if I use a power supply with an output lower than 18W?

A power supply of at least 18W is required to provide full Qi EPP 10W charging functionality.  Using a lower wattage power supply will cause the Belkin WIZ011 to not operate correctly.  It is always recommended to use an 18W or higher power supply with this product.

15.  Does the Belkin WIZ011 generate ozone while it is sanitizing my devices?

No.
