Belkin NIAP PP4.0 Secure KVM and KM Administrator Advanced Configurations – How to Enable and Disable Guard Mode on a KVM in KM Mode

Belkin KMs feature a mode called Guard Mode. Guard Mode is used for switching between connected computers by simply moving the mouse. When enabled, users are required to hold the left CTRL key when moving between channels. Disabling Guard Mode removes this restriction, allowing users to switch by simply moving the mouse.

  • Belkin 2nd Gen Universal Secure KVMs in KM Mode
  • Belkin Modular Secure KVMs in KM Mode

1. Log in to the Administration Configuration Terminal.

2. Enable or disable Guard Mode by pressing and releasing the following key combinations:

 
  • To enable Guard Mode: Left CTRL, Left CTRL, F11, C
  • To disable Guard Mode: Left CTRL, Left CTRL, F11, B
