Belkin NIAP PP4.0 Secure KVM and KM Administrator Advanced Configurations – How to enable Touchscreens

Last updated: 5/29/2024

By default, touchscreen controls are disabled on the KVM and KM. When you connect a touchscreen display you will receive an image, but no controls will be sent through to the host computer. Touchscreen support can be enabled for the KVM / KM at which point you can try using your touchscreen controls again.

NOTE: Not all touchscreen displays are compatible with Belkin Secure KVM / KMs. Depending upon the hardware in your display, the KVM may reject the connection due to security requirements. Try enabling touchscreen support first to see if it will work. If the USB ports on the KVM still show a red rejected light, you can try using the Belkin F1DN-FLTR-HID-4 HID filter.

1. Connect a working keyboard to the keyboard port on the KVM / KM and log in to the Administrator Configuration Terminal.

2. Choose Menu 7 - configure peripheral devices.

3. Choose option 1 - toggle touch screen support.

4. Once toggled ON, back out and exit the Administrator Configuration Terminal. Power down the KVM / KM and connect the display that you would like to use to the USB-A mouse port on the KVM / KM.

NOTE: Enabling touchscreen support will reconfigure the keyboard mode on the KVM / KM. If you have enabled keyboard multimedia keys, this setting will be overridden and the buttons will no longer work. You can reenable the multimedia keys in the Administrator Configuration Console Menu 7 option 2.
