2.  Can I charge a tablet with the Belkin WIC001?

No, the Belkin WIC001 is designed to charge phones only.

3.  How many devices can I charge with the included car charger power adapter?

The included 12V car charger power adapter features two USB ports.  One is meant to be used with the Belkin WIC001 allowing for charging of another device with the remaining port.

4.  Which USB port does the Belkin WIC001 need to be plugged into?

The Belkin WIC001 should be plugged into the red USB port on the car charger power adapter.  

5.  Can I use the Belkin WIC001 with vertical air conditioning vents?

The Belkin WIC001 features an adjustable clamp that allows for two levels of tightness.  It can attach to most vehicles with horizontal or vertical vents.

FUNCTIONALITY

1.  Can I charge my phone with its case on?

The Belkin WIC001 is engineered to work with lightweight plastic cases of up to 3 mm thick.

2.  Can I charge my phone with its metal case on?

No, the Belkin WIC001 is not compatible with metal cases.

3.  How does the one-hand placement work?

The Belkin WIC001 features a motorized clamping system to securely hold your phone in place.  This is operated by buttons on the unit that will open and close the clamps.
 

4.  Can I charge in portrait or landscape mode?

Yes, you can charge on portrait or landscape mode.

5.  How do I attach the Belkin WIC001 to my vehicles vent slats?

The Belkin WIC001 comes with an adjustable clamp that attaches to its back.  The clamp has two clamping force settings allowing it to be used with multiple types of vehicles and mounting areas.

6.  Can I adjust the Belkin WIC001 to be easier to view the screen when attached to my vehicle?

Yes.  The clamp that attaches to the back of the Belkin WIC001 can be swiveled to allow adjustment of the viewing angle of your phone.  

7.  How do I adjust the viewing angle of my phone on the Belkin WIC001?

On the back of the Belkin WIC001, there is an adjustment nut that attaches the vent clamp to the unit.  Loosen this nut to allow adjustment of the viewing angle and then tighten to lock it in place.

8.  Does the bottom phone support adjust for smaller phones?

Yes, it can be adjusted up and down.

9.  Is the bottom phone support removable?

No.

10.  Can the Belkin WIC001 be used to hold my phone without power?

The Belkin WIC001 features a motorized clamping system to securely hold your phone in place.  For this to operate you will need to power the unit.  If the clamps are closed and you remove power from the Belkin WIC001, the clamps will remain closed and the phone will not charge.  To release the clamps, you will need to provide power to the Belkin WIC001 again and press the side buttons to open.

11.  Can I open and close the clamps without powering the Belkin WIC001?

The Belkin WIC001 uses a motor to open and close the clamps.  Attempting to open or close the clamps without powering the Belkin WIC001 can lead to damage of the motors and will void your warranty.

12.  Can I use the Belkin WIC001 in a vehicle with a 24V power system?

The car charger power adapter that comes with the Belkin WIC001 is designed to be used with a 12V power system only.  Using it with a different voltage system can damage the adapter and void the warranty.

The Belkin WIC001 wireless charger itself can be used with any USB power supply as long as it can provide at least 18W of power.
