NOTE:Â Rebooting is not the same as restoring your speaker. Â A reboot will power cycle your speaker while keeping all settings. Â A restore will erase all settings and return your speaker back to its factory default settings. Â For instructions on restoring your speaker to factory settings, click here.

One or more Google Homeâ„¢ smart speaker products
-
The latest Google Home app installed on your smartphone or tablet
-
A smartphone or tablet that is connected to the same Wi-Fi as your smart speaker
To reboot the speaker physically, simply unplug the power cord for 5 seconds and then plug it back in. Â This will cause the speaker to power cycle.
IMPORTANT: Â The reset button on the bottom of the speaker is for performing a factory restore and not for rebooting. Â
Rebooting the smart speaker through the Google Home app
Using the Google Home app, you can reboot a speaker.Â
NOTE: The iOS version of the Google Home app is used in the example below.  While the screenshots may look different from the Android™ version, the steps are the same.
Â
Open the Google Home app and tap on the speaker you will reboot.
Â

Tap the Gear icon in the top right corner.
Â

On the Device settings page, tap the three dots in the top right corner to open the pop-up menu. Then, tap on Reboot.
A reboot confirmation pop-up will appear. Â To continue, tap OK.
The status lights on the front of your speaker will light up and change colors during the reboot process.  Your speaker will play a tone once it is done rebooting for about a minute later.
