The Connect Thunderbolt 4 Dock can run more than one monitor, so you can work with more screen space. Follow the steps below.
1
Pick the right video ports on the dock
If you are using 1 monitor
- Use HDMI or DisplayPort
If you are using 2 monitors
- Use two DisplayPort ports, or
- Use one DisplayPort + HDMI
If you are using 3 monitors (Windows laptops only, host-dependent)
- Use two DisplayPort + HDMI
2
Connect the monitors
- Turn OFF your monitors (optional, but helps if things get confusing).
- Plug your first monitor’s cable into the dock (HDMI or DisplayPort).
- Plug the other end of the cable into the monitor.
- Repeat for the second (and third) monitor.
- Turn the monitors ON.
3
Set the monitor input (people miss this a lot)
On each monitor:
- Press the Input / Source button.
- Choose the port you used: HDMI or DisplayPort.
If the monitor is on the wrong input, you will see a black screen.
4
Tell your computer how to use the screens
Windows (easy steps)
- Right-click on the desktop.
- Click Display settings.
- Scroll to Multiple displays.
- Choose:
- Extend (best for more space)
- Duplicate (same screen on all monitors)
- Click Apply.
Mac (easy steps)
- Click the Apple menu.
- Click System Settings.
- Click Displays.
- Arrange the screens by dragging them.
- Pick Extend if you want more space.
Note: Some Macs have a limit on how many external monitors they can run, and the dock cannot go past that limit.
Troubleshooting Tip: If it still does not work
- Unplug the dock’s cable from the laptop, wait 5 seconds, plug it back in.
- Try one monitor first, then add the second.
- Swap the cable (bad HDMI/DP cables cause many “no signal” issues).
- Restart the laptop once with the dock connected.
