The Connected Cree® LED Bulb requires a Wemo® Link to operate with the Wemo App. Currently, the Cree LED Bulb and the Wemo Link are sold separately. To begin the setup, make sure you have Wemo Link already installed on your Wi-Fi with firmware version 9770 or higher, and you have a Wemo App version 1.13.4 or higher. IMPORTANT: When pairing your Cree LED Bulb to your Wemo Link, the Wemo Link must be scanning for new devices first before you can add the Cree LED Bulb. When the Cree LED Bulb is put into pairing mode, it will send out a pairing request only one time. If the Wemo Link is not scanning for devices at this time, it will miss the request and the bulb will have to be reset. For instructions on how to reset the Cree LED Bulb, click here.
NOTE: The Wemo App may vary depending on the device (iOS or Android™) used. For improved results, we recommend that users purchase the latest Wemo devices from authorized retailers as well as keep the Wemo App and device firmware up-to-date.
Step 2: Tap Add WEMO Link Device.
Step 3: The WEMO Link will scan for new bulbs.
Step 4: You will need to put your bulb into scanning pairing mode. Start with the Cree LED Bulb powered ON and then follow this procedure:
- Power the bulb OFF for 2 seconds.
- Power the bulb ON for 1 second.
- Power the bulb OFF for 2 seconds.
- Power the bulb ON for 1 second.
- Power the bulb OFF for 2 seconds.
- Power the bulb ON for 1 second.
- Power the bulb OFF for 2 seconds.
- Power the bulb ON and leave it ON.
Step 6: When the bulb connects to the link, it will show in the list and pulse one time to signify it has connected.
Step 7: Complete the setup by naming the bulb and assigning it a custom icon (iOS only) and then tap Save.
NOTE: If the bulb DOES NOT show up in the link list after a few seconds of completing Step 3, power OFF the bulb for 3 seconds and then power it back ON. It should blink one time to signify it is in pairing mode and send out the pairing request again. If it does not, repeat Step 3 in its entirety to try again.
Using the Bulb
The Cree LED Bulb can be used the same way the Wemo® Smart LED Bulb is used.
- Compatible with rules
- Can be grouped with other bulbs
- Can be dimmed using the Wemo App only (not compatible with mechanical dimmer switches)
- Can be turned ON and OFF with the Wemo App
- Can be controlled remotely
- Can be used as a normal bulb if powered ON with wall switch/lamp switch
- Not compatible with Amazon Echo
