Installing the Storage Manager software for your Wireless-N router


Managing the storage devices connected to your Belkin F5D8235-4 N+ Wireless Router is easy if you install the Storage Manager software.  The steps below will guide you on how to install the Storage Manager software for your F5D8235-4 router.

NOTE:  The router supports FAT, FAT32, and NTFS file systems only.
 

Step 1:
Connect your USB device to your router.  When the light above the router's USB port is lit green, the storage device is available to the computers connected.

Step 2:
Insert your router's Setup CD into your computer's CD drive.  

Step 3:
If you are using the Setup CD, go to My Computer and double-click Easy Install.  Select Go to the Main Menu for all choices and click Go.  Click Storage Manager.

If you downloaded the software, double-click the file.  In this example, the downloaded installer for Windows is used.

Step 4:
On the Security Warning window that appears, click Run.

Click OK.

Wait while the InstallShield Wizard prepares to install the Storage Manager.

Step 6:
Click Next > to start the installation process.

Step 7:
Select Change… if you wish to change the Destination Folder then click Next > to proceed.

Click Install.

Wait for the installation to complete.

Step 9:
Click Finish to exit the wizard.

Step 10:
Click the Launch StorageManager.exe shortcut to launch the Storage Manager software.

You should see the Belkin Storage Manager icon on the system tray.

Once this is installed, your storage device will appear as a drive letter (e.g., D:\) in your My Computer folder.  You may read and write to this drive as if it were directly attached to your computer.
