Manually setting up your router
NOTE: Details on the steps and images may vary depending on your router model number.
Unplug the modem and router from the power source.
Connect the Ethernet cable from the modem to the WAN or Internet port of the router.
Power ON your modem first, then your router by plugging them back to the power source.
The steps shown below may not apply to some Belkin router models. To learn how to set up a Belkin router using the Dashboard, click here.
Connect the computer to one (1) of the Ethernet ports of the router.
Launch a web browser, enter the router’s IP Address in the Address bar and press [ENTER].
NOTE: The default IP Address of a Belkin router is 192.168.2.1. If you are experiencing difficulties in accessing the default IP Address, click here for more troubleshooting information.
Leave the Password field blank and click Submit. If you encounter issues in accessing the router’s web-based setup page, click here.
Under Internet WAN, click Connection Type.
Select your Connection Type and click Next.
NOTE: If you don’t know your Connection Type, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Click on the links below to know how to set up your router according to the following connection types:
Cable Internet Service
PPPoE / DSL
Static IP Account
Enter the details provided by your ISP and click the button.
