- You must have the latest Wemo app installed on your mobile device and a Wemo account. For instructions on how to create an account, click here.
- Verify if your Wemo supports Apple® HomeKit® by checking if there is a HomeKit code label at the back or side of the device. For more instructions, click here.
- Your mobile device must be connected to the same WiFi where you want to install your Wemo. Make sure to have your WiFi password ready. To learn how to check your WiFi settings when on a Belkin router, click here. If you want to change your WiFi settings using the router's dashboard, click here.
- You may need to disable the Smart network switch (sometimes called Mobile Network Switch or Auto-switch to mobile network) on your Android™ device. If you're using an iOS device, you may need to disable WiFi Assist instead. To learn more, click here.

Setting up Wemo devices that do not support Apple HomeKit
Step 1: Launch the Wemo app and tap Log In. To learn how to log into your Wemo account, click here.
Step 2: Once you are logged in, you will be redirected to the Devices list. This screen will show the existing Wemo devices linked to your account.
If you don’t have existing Wemo devices, you’ll be routed to this page instead.
Step 3: Open the Wi-Fi Settings on your phone and connect to the default Wemo WiFi.
Step 4: Once connected, open the Wemo app again.
Step 5: Give your Wemo a name and tap Next.
Step 6: Select your home WiFi and enter the WiFi password when prompted.
The Wemo device will try to connect to your WiFi.
Once it’s connected, the app will discover the Wemo devices.
Once setup is complete, you will be redirected to the Devices list where you can control your Wemo devices.
Setting up Wemo devices that support Apple HomeKit
Step 1: Launch the Wemo app and tap Log In. To learn how to log into your Wemo account, click here.
Step 2: Tap on the icon.
QUICK TIP: This screen will show the existing Wemo devices linked to your account.
If you don’t have existing Wemo devices, tap Add a New Wemo.
Step 3: Choose the type of Wemo device that you want to set up.
Step 4: Select the Wemo device that you’d like to set up.
Step 5: Tap It’s Plugged In.
If you are installing a Wemo Light Switch, tap Yes, It’s Installed.
Step 6: Check the light on your Wemo. Once the light on the side of the Wemo device begins to flash orange and white, tap It’s Ready for Setup.
For Wemo Light Switch, tap It’s Blinking Blue.
Step 7: Locate the HomeKit code sticker on your Wemo device. Once you’ve found the code, tap I Found It.
For Wemo Light Switch, it shows up like this. Tap Continue With Setup.
Step 8: To scan your HomeKit code, tap Let’s Scan.
Step 9: Scan the HomeKit code.
NOTE: You can also tap Don’t Have a Code or Can't Scan? and then tap Enter code to enter the code manually.
Wait until the Accessory has been added.
Step 10: Customize the name, set the Room location and change the Type of your Wemo device. Tap Done once finished.
Once your Wemo device has been added successfully to the network, you will be redirected to the Devices list.
