The OSRAM LIGHTIFY™ Gardenspot Mini RGB makes your outdoor area glow with colorful lighting effects. This article will guide you on how to install it.
There are a few basic requirements that you need to have before you can start:
- A working Wi-Fi with internet connection
- A Wemo® Link (included in the starter set)
- The latest version of the Wemo App from the App Store® for iOS devices or Google Play™ for Android™ devices
Installing the Gardenspot Mini RGB to your desired location
You can choose from any of the three installations for your lights:
1. In-ground setup
Measure the area where you want to install the Gardenspot Mini RGB and insert the pick into the ground with the light facing upwards.
NOTE: The Gardenspot Mini RGB is 14 ft long with nine lights, connectable. The maximum length of the power supply that you can have is 28 ft (18 lights). Do NOT insert the pick to more than 6 in (152 mm) deep from the ground surface.
2. Surface setup
Remove the cord from the cord hooks. Use a screwdriver to loosen then separate the light from the pick. Then, fix and screw the light source into the surface.
3. Three-foot expansion kit setup (optional)
Turn OFF the power first before installing the expansion kit. Do NOT exceed the maximum 28 ft (18 lights). Turn the plastic end cap counterclockwise to remove from the first product. Connect the expansion kit and then turn the plastic end cap clockwise at the end of the expansion kit.
Setting up the Gardenspot Mini RGB with the Wemo AppThe Gardenspot Mini RGB requires a Wemo Link to operate on your Wi-Fi. If you have the starter set, the Wemo Link is already included in the package. If you already have an existing Wemo Link in your Wi-Fi, you can also connect your Gardenspot Mini RGB to that. For instructions, click here.
Step 1: Connect the Light Strand Connector to the Controller Connector.
NOTE: Make sure all connectors are firmly tightened and secured. You can turn the plastic end cap clockwise tightly at the end of the Light Strand.
Step 2: Connect the Controller into a Power Supply Connector and plug the power supply into an outlet.
NOTE: Only plug the power supply into an outdoor outlet that has Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protection.
Step 3: Plug in the Wemo Link in a central location in your home.
Step 4: On your smartphone or tablet, tap Settings > Wi-Fi > WeMo.Link.xxx.
NOTE: The default Wi-Fi name of the Wemo Link has this format: WeMo.Link.xxx. The xxx are the last three digits of its serial number.
Step 5: Launch the App.
Step 6: Select your Wi-Fi when prompted.
Step 7: After the Wemo Link is set up, it will start scanning for the Gardenspot Mini RGB. Make sure that the lights are turned ON.
QUICK TIP: When the Gardenspot Mini RGB has been detected, it will flash for a few seconds. Also, by default, they will appear in order as detected by the name.
NOTE: The Gardenspot Mini RGB must be on default settings (not paired to any other Wemo Link).
