Configuring your Belkin router to connect to your DSL Internet service is easy using the web-based setup page. The steps below will guide you on how to access the web-based setup page of your Belkin router and connect it to your DSL Internet Service Provider (ISP).
To set up a Belkin router with DSL connection, you need to perform four (4) procedures:
i. Verify the Internet connection
ii. Connect the devices together
iii. Access the web-based setup page
iv. Configure the Belkin router for DSL Internet connection
ii. Connect the devices together
iii. Access the web-based setup page
iv. Configure the Belkin router for DSL Internet connection
NOTE: Images may vary depending on the type of computer and router model you are using.
Verify the Internet connection
Step 1:
Connect your computer to the modem using an Ethernet cable without the router installed.

Verify if your computer is getting an Internet connection by accessing a site.

NOTE: If your Internet service does not involve a modem, you can contact your ISP to verify your connection type and determine what kind of cable to be used.
Connect the devices together
Before connecting the modem to the router, unplug first the modem and the router from the power source.
Step 1:
Connect your modem to the WAN or Internet port of the router.

Step 2:
Plug in your modem and then your router to the power source.

Step 3:
Connect the computer to any of the numbered ports (1, 2, 3 or 4) of your router. If you are using a wireless computer, you will need to connect it first with an Ethernet cable.
NOTE: In this example, the wireless computer is connected to port number 2.

Access the web-based setup page
Step 1:
Launch a web browser like Internet Explorer®.
Step 2:
Enter "http://router" or the router's default IP Address, "192.168.2.1" in the Address bar and press [Enter]. If this doesn't work, check your router's IP Address. For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
On the upper right corner, select Login.

Step 3:
Leave the Password field blank and click Submit.

After checking the physical connections and accessing the web-based setup page, you are now ready to configure your Belkin router to connect to your DSL Internet connection.
Step 1:
Click Connection Type under Internet WAN.

Select your connection type. For DSL Internet Service Providers, select PPPoE.

Step 3:
Click Next.
Click Next.
Step 4:
Enter the information provided by your DSL ISP and click Apply Changes.

Wait while the router applies the settings. To know whether you are already connected to the Internet, check the Internet Status on the upper right corner and make sure it shows Connected.
