How to set up the Wemo WSP100

Setting up your new Wemo® Smart Plug with Thread, WSP100 using the Apple® Home app is quick and easy with a HomeKit® setup code.

Step 1: Plug in your Wemo Smart Plug and press the power button.

Step 2: Wait for the light on the plug to alternately blink white and orange.

Step 3: Hold the upper back of your phone near the Wemo and follow the prompts that appear. You may need to adjust the angle slightly for the connection to work. Make sure your phone is unlocked.

IMPORTANT: If the setup prompts do not appear, open the Apple Home app and tap on + to manually enter the eight-digit HomeKit code printed on the quick start guide.

If you want to control your plug with the Apple Home app while away from home, you’ll need a home hub that is always connected to the internet. This may be a HomePod®, an Apple TV® (4K or HD with the latest tvOS™) or an iPad® (with the latest iOS).
