A child node is another router like a Belkin RT1800 or Belkin RT3200 being used to extend your WiFi with the EasyMesh feature. The following scenarios can be the reason for accessing a child node:
- For manual firmware update (if automatic update failed)
- To check or update the Time Zone settings
Follow the steps below to log in to a child node's web interface.
NOTE: Images may vary depending on the model of your router. In this article, the Belkin RT3200 was used.
Log in to the parent node. To know how, click here.
Step 2:
Click on Configuration > Wi-Fi > Basic Wireless Settings.
Step 3:
Click on the EasyMesh information button.
Look up the name of your child node and take note of its IP Address. In this example, Office is the name of the child node.
There are two sections on the EasyMesh information screen; the Controller is the parent node while the Agent is the child node. The Controller’s table will show clients and other child nodes that are wirelessly connected to it.
NOTE: The Firmware Version column will only display the child node's information.
Step 5:
Open another tab on your browser and enter “https://x.x.x.x/ca” on the Address bar.
NOTE: The x.x.x.x represents the IP Address of your child node.
Step 6:
Enter the admin password which is similar to the parent node's password.
You should have now successfully accessed an EasyMesh child node.
