Before you begin:
By default, Anonymous Disk Access is enabled on your Belkin RT1800. This means that anybody within the network can access the drive connected to your router. Before you can enable Create Share to secure access to your drive, you need to do the following first:
- Disable Anonymous Disk Access
- Create a New Group and a New User

Step 1:
Access your router’s web interface. For instructions, click here.
Step 2:
Click on Configuration.
Click on Configuration.
Step 3:
Click on External Storage.
Click on External Storage.
Step 4:
Click on Create Share.
Click on Create Share.
Step 5:
Create and enter a unique Display Name into the field.

Select either an existing folder/partition or create a New Folder by entering a unique name into the field and clicking Create.

NOTE: To display sub-folders, click Enter into Folder. To return to the previous folder, click Return to Upper Folder.
Step 7:
Select the group you want to grant permissions by clicking a group from the Available Groups column and selecting the arrow to move it over to the Groups with Access section.
NOTE: The Access columns will only appear if you unchecked Anonymous Disk Access in the Administration page of the External Storage.

Step 8:
Click Save to apply settings.
Click Save to apply settings.
The shared folder has now been created.
NOTE: To edit the group access, simply click Edit and make your changes.
