The Belkin WiFi 6 Router, RT1800 features a USB port which allows you to connect an external storage device that can be shared by authorized users within your home network. Â
This article will show you how to access and use the External Storage feature of your router when a drive is connected into the USB port.Â
Step 1:
Access your router’s web interface.  For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
Click on Configuration.

Click on External Storage. Â

You will see the following settings when a drive is connected:

Disk1 - Displays the drive's description. Â In the example above, Seagate BUP Slim RD is used.
 Â
Safely Remove Disk - Click on it to ensure that your hard drive will be removed safely. Â This will also prevent file corruption.

Create Share - Assigns access permissions to either an entire partition or specific folders of the partition. Â To know more about Create Share, click here.

USB Port Speed - Displays the USB standard of the hard drive.

Shared Folder - Under this section, the following are displayed:

- Router Name - This is also known as the NetBIOS name of the router. Â This can be changed if you go to Configuration > Local Network settings of your router's web interface.
- Shared Disk IP Address - Displays the IP address of your drive.

Summary - Displays the shared folders. Â Clicking on Edit lets you change the access settings of a shared folder, while clicking on Delete lets you remove them.
Â
Format Disk - Click on this option to select a disk you want to format.Â
Refresh - Click this button to refresh the External Storage page of the router.
