How to change the name of a speaker or speaker group in the Google Home app

When setting up the Belkin SOUNDFORM™ ELITE Hi-Fi Smart Speaker + Wireless Charger, G1S0001 or any smart speaker with Google Home™ app, you will be able to assign a name for it.  If you want to change the name, you can do so with the Google Home app.  This article will walk you through changing the name of an individual speaker or a speaker group.

Before you begin, you will need the following:
  • One or more Belkin SOUNDFORM ELITE devices or any Google Home-compatible smart speaker
  • Latest Google Home app installed on your smartphone or tablet
  • Make sure that your smartphone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi as your smart speaker

Changing the name of a speaker or speaker group

NOTE:  Although the steps are similar, the images may appear differently depending on your phone's operating system.
 
Step 1:
Open the Google Home app.

Step 2:
Tap on the speaker or speaker group that you wish to change the name.

Step 3:
Tap on the gear icon at the top-right corner to open the Device settings page for the speaker.

Step 4:
Tap on the Name option.

Customize your speaker's name and tap SAVE to continue.

The new name of your speaker will be saved and displayed in the Google Home app.
