1. What is the Belkin QODE™ Slim Style Keyboard Case for iPad Air 2 and iPad Air, F5L174?

The Belkin QODE™ Slim Style Keyboard Case for iPad Air 2 and iPad Air, F5L174 is an ultra thin, incredibly light and stylish keyboard case that gives maximum protection to your iPad Air® without the added bulk.  This revamped keyboard case features the same number of keys that as a laptop keyboard.  This also features Bluetooth® Smart (4.0) for faster connectivity with your iPad Air and allows you to pair with other devices.


IMPORTANT:  Before using your Belkin QODE Keyboard, make sure to disconnect the Bluetooth devices previously connected to it.  Also, if the keyboard layout of your device is different from that of your Hardware Keyboard, you must change the keyboard language to update the output.  Modifying only the iPad® or mobile phone language will not change the keyboard output.  For more information on how to change this on your Android™ device, click here.  For more information on how to change this on your iOS device, click here.

The light of the Belkin F5L174 indicates the following conditions:

Because the Slim Style Keyboard can be paired with two devices, the light color will indicate which memory slot you are currently trying to pair with.  If the light is showing blue, you are pairing device 1.  If the light is showing purple, you are pairing device 2.

 
i. During connection
  • Pairing Mode – Blue / Purple light will flash quickly twice every second for 30 seconds.
  • Re-connecting – Blue / Purple light will flash once every second.
  • Connected – Blue / Purple light will stay solid for 2 seconds.
  • Cleaned up pairing list – light will flash twice and then will turn OFF.
ii. Battery indicating
  • Low battery – Red light will turn ON.
  • Charging – Red light will turn ON until charging complete.
7.  How many devices can I pair with the Belkin F5L174?  How can I switch between devices? 
 
The
Belkin F5L174 can pair with two devices.  After pairing both devices, you switch between devices by pressing:
  • Function plus Delete (Fn + Delete) for device 1
  • Function plus = (Fn + =) for device 2
NOTE:  Holding either of these key combinations for more than 5 seconds will clear the memory slot, and you will have to pair the keyboard again with a device.

SETUP AND CONFIGURATION

 
1.  How do I set up my Belkin F5L174?
 
First, line up the iPad camera, power switch, and volume buttons with the holes on the case.  Place the iPad in one side and make sure corners are secure.  Secure the remaining corners.  To begin typing, line up the magnetic strip of the iPad frame with the magnetic strip above the keyboard.  Turn ON the keyboard by switching the toggle switch on the right side of the keyboard.
 
2.  How do I switch ON the Belkin F5L174?
 
The Belkin F5L174 has a dedicated ON OFF switch at the side of the keyboard to let you switch it ON or OFF at your own convenience.
 
3.  How do I pair the Belkin F5L174 with my iPad Air®?

4.  How do I know that I have paired my iPad Air and another device with the Belkin F5L174?
 
A blue light will light up when pairing your iPad Air or a primary Bluetooth device.  When pairing a secondary Bluetooth device, a purple light will light up.
 
5.  Can I simultaneously use the keyboard between two Bluetooth devices?
 
When using two Bluetooth devices, the keyboard will toggle between them.  For example, you paired the keyboard with your iPad Air and iPhone.  When you’re typing an email with your iPad Air and you receive a text message on your iPhone, you can toggle the keyboard to the iPhone without turning your iPad OFF.  You can continue typing your email with your iPad Air without hassle.
 
6.  How do I charge my Belkin F5L174?
 
You can recharge your keyboard using the provided Micro USB cable.  The light indicator will show red when charging and will turn OFF once the keyboard is fully charged.
 
TROUBLESHOOTING
 
1.  Why am I having trouble pairing my Belkin F5L174?
 
If you are having trouble pairing, start by clearing all Slim Style Keyboards from the iPad Bluetooth memory slots.  To do this, follow these steps:

 
Step 1:
Select the device and tap Forget This Device
 
Step 2:
Turn the iPad Bluetooth OFF
 
Step 3:
Clear all memory slots on the Slim Style Keyboard by holding the four corner keys (iOS Home Key, Function, Delete, Right arrow) for 5 seconds
 
NOTE:  The keyboard will enter pairing mode for memory slot 1 after clearing. 
 
Step 4:
Turn iPad Bluetooth ON and attempt to pair again.  

2.  How do I forget the device?
 
Step 1:
Go to Settings.

 
Step 2:
Tap on Bluetooth.
 
Step 3:
Under My Devices, tap the name of the keyboard device.
 
Step 4:
If your device shows that your keyboard is Not Connected, tap the User-added image icon.

Step 5:
Tap Forget This Device, then OK to confirm.
