Connecting a Windows computer to your WiFi

This article will guide you on how to connect your Windows® computer your WiFi.  Follow the steps below to learn how.
Before connecting your Windows computer to the WiFi, make sure you have the following information ready:

  • WiFi name (SSID)
  • Wireless security key or password

NOTE:  If you don’t know or have forgotten the wireless settings of your Belkin router, click here.

Step 1: 
Click the User-added image icon on the system tray.
Step 2: 
Select the name of the network to connect to and click Connect.

NOTE:  If your network is security-enabled, enter your network key instead.

QUICK TIP:  You can check the Connect automatically box to allow your computer to connect automatically the next time it is within the range of the network.
Your Windows 10 computer should now be connected to the WiFi and the User-added image icon on the system tray should be displayed.
Windows 8.1 / 8

Step 1:
Press the Windows User-added image key + D on your keyboard to show the Desktop.
Step 2:
Click the User-added image icon on the system tray.  The list of available WiFi will be displayed.

Step 3:
Select the name of your Wi-Fi and click Connect.

Step 4:
Enter your network security key and click Next.

Your Windows 8.1 or Windows 8 computer should now be connected to the WiFi and the  User-added image icon should be displayed on the system tray.

Windows 7

Step 1:
Click the Network User-added image icon and select your WiFi name then click Connect.

QUICK TIP:  Checking the Connect automatically box will allow your computer to automatically connect to your WiFi every time it is within range.
Step 2:
Enter your WiFi password in the Security key field and click OK.
QUICK TIP:  If your network is unsecured, your wireless computer will automatically be connected to the WiFi without entering the security key or password.

The User-added image icon will then appear on your taskbar once the wireless connection is established. 

Your Windows 7 computer should now be connected to the WiFi.
