When you first install and power ON the Wemo Dimmer WDS070, it will begin to boot up and flash white. This indicates not only that the Wemo is not set up, but it is also not in setup mode. The Wemo Dimmer WDS070 is completely functional at this point and can be used to control your lighting, other than the smart features such as automation and app control.
What can you do without adding your Wemo Dimmer WDS070 to your Apple Home network?
Using physical buttons on the front of the Wemo Dimmer WDS070, you can do the following:
- You can turn your lights ON or OFF.
- You can change the brightness of your lights.
- You can set the maximum and minimum brightness levels of your Wemo Dimmer WDS070.
What can’t you do without adding your Wemo Dimmer WDS070 to your Apple Home network?
- You will not be able to control the Wemo Dimmer WDS070 using the Home app.
- You will not be able to control the Wemo Dimmer WDS070 remotely.
- You will not be able to use automation with the Wemo Dimmer WDS070.
