Wemo Doorbell
| The Wemo Doorbell is the main unit. |
Bracket (with internal screws) | The metal mounting bracket holds your Wemo Doorbell to the wall and connects to your doorbell wiring system, providing power to your Wemo Doorbell. This bracket can be used by itself or with the left/right-angled mounting wedge. |
Left / Right wedge | The plastic left/right mounting wedge is used with the Metal Mounting Bracket to angle your Wemo Doorbell to the left or right, allowing it a better view when placed on a wall perpendicular to a walkway. |
Power kit (with chime connector) | The power kit is used to connect your Wemo Doorbell with your existing mechanical doorbell chime. This allows your doorbell to ring the chime when the button is pressed. |
Screwdriver (for security screw) | A Torx T6 security screw is used to attach the doorbell to the mounting bracket. This screwdriver is used to tighten that screw. |
Mounting screws | The large mounting screws are used to attach the metal mounting bracket or the plastic mounting wedge to the wall. The small mounting screws are used to attach the metal mounting bracket to the plastic mounting wedge. |
Security screw | The 6 mm M3 Torx T6 security screw is used to attach the doorbell to the metal mounting bracket. |
What else do I need to install the Wemo Doorbell?
Item | Description |
Existing wired front doorbell system with 16V to 24V power system | The Wemo Doorbell requires a 16V or 24V wired doorbell system. |
Mechanical chime | If you would like to have the Wemo Doorbell ring a chime in your home, you will need to make sure it is a mechanical chime. The Wemo Doorbell will not work with electronic chimes. If you have an electronic chime or do not want to use a chime at all, you can use the chime bypass connector. |
Chime bypass | The chime bypass is a connector used for bypassing the mechanical chime in your doorbell system. It is mainly used for users with versions of iOS 13 or lower who want to disable the doorbell chime from ringing. Newer versions of iOS allow you to enable/disable the doorbell chime directly in the Home app. |
Masonry drill bit (6 mm) | The 6 mm masonry drill bit is used when attaching your doorbell to a wall that is made of stucco, brick or cement. A standard wood drill bit will not drill through these materials. This drill bit can also be used on a wood wall. |
Anchors | Nylon wall anchors are used if you need to drill new holes to attach the doorbell. These will help the screws grip into the wall. |
At least two bars of high speed WiFi (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) at your doorbell | The Wemo Doorbell connects to your WiFi to operate. You will need at least two bars of WiFi signal strength at the location your doorbell will be for proper functionality. |
iPhone® (7 or later) or iPad® with the latest iOS version | An iPhone or iPad with iOS 12 or later is required for setup with HomeKit. |
HomePod®, Apple TV®, or iPad set up as a home hub | A Home Hub is required for recording and remote access with the Wemo Doorbell. Click here for more information on what can be used as a Home Hub. |
Drill | A drill is recommended for drilling any necessary holes to attach your doorbell to the wall. Included with the Wemo Doorbell is a masonry drill bit if your house exterior is stucco, brick or cement. |
Phillips screwdriver | Included with your Wemo Doorbell is a set of Philips screws for attaching your doorbell to the wall. |
