Once the PDA adapter is installed, there should always be a steady green Link light ON.  When performing a Hot-Sync, or if there is data transmission to and from the serial device you are connecting, the TX and RX red lights blink as the adapter transmits and receives data.
 
5. Why is my serial device not getting recognized even if the Belkin F5U409 is properly installed?
 
Some serial devices require specific port settings to communicate to the computer.  Contact your serial device manufacturer and verify if they require any specific port settings.

If you cannot hear any audio coming from the Bluetooth® headset, even though the connection is established, make sure that in 'Control Panel'\'Sound' (Vista) or 'Control Panel'\'Sounds and Audio Devices' (XP) the relevant Bluetooth® Audio option is selected as the audio device for playback.
 
4. What should I do if I get an Unknown Port Error Message when using a Bluetooth® Serial Port?
 
The Unknown Port error message usually means an attempt was made to connect a port that was in use.  Additional Bluetooth® Serial Ports can be added if required.

The differences are as follows:
  • The Belkin F4U009 is a 4-Port PCI Internal FireWire® Card.
  • The Belkin F4U011 is a PCMCIA FireWire® Card.
  • The Belkin F4U008 is a USB 2.0 Notebook Card.
2. What should I do if the Setup CD of my adapter is missing?
 
The Belkin F4U009, Belkin F4U011 and Belkin F4U008 do not come with Setup CDs.  Drivers needed to make this adapter work are built into the supported Operating Systems, and there is no need for additional software.  Follow the instructions in the installation guide to successfully install the product.
 
3. Can I use the internal port and one of the external ports of the Belkin F4U009 at the same time?
 
On the Belkin F4U009 PCI Internal FireWire® Card, the internal port shares circuitry with the external port that is closest to it.  Only one of these ports can be used at any one time.  If you are using the internal port, do not use the external one that is farthest from the PCI bus.

During the hardware installation of your Belkin F5D7000 v6, if you receive a message requesting the driver RT61.sys/.inf then direct the wizard at the location "C:\Program Files\Belkin\Belkin 802.11g Wireless Card Configuration Utility\Driver".

In order to use WPA on the Belkin F5D7330, a firmware update may be needed.  WPA is supported from version 1.00.09 of the firmware.  The update is available here.

1.  How to resolve a problem in getting the Wireless Utility of the Belkin F5D7050 v2 / v3 to work after installing on Windows® 98 SE?
 
At the end of the software installation, two windows appear at the same time.  One will require you to reboot the computer and the other to plug in the adapter.  Just click, No don`t restart now and plug your adapter.  Windows should finish installing the device (It may ask for the Windows CD).  Once it has successfully installed, you may restart the computer.
 
2.  Why can`t I connect to my Belkin F5D7050 v2 / v3 using a 13-digit encryption pass code?
 
If you are trying to configure the encryption on your adapter to use a 13-digit passcode (e.g., Z12FGC34D3936) then you need to select alphanumeric in the Belkin Wireless Utility and enter the code.  It should then connect without any problems.
 
BELKIN F5D7010
 
1. How do I resolve System slow after Belkin F5D7010 v1 card installation?
 
Scenario:  Laptop does not go to stand-by; WinXPDisableWirelessZeroConfigation.exe using 100% of CPU time

This was an issue with the original version of the software for this card.  To resolve this, download the latest version of the software from here.  To install properly, remove your existing version, reboot and then install this new software version. 

Alternatively, end the process WinXPDisableWirelessZeroConfigation.exe (note the typo) from the Task Manager and delete the file.  It is in the folder C:\Program Files\Belkin\Belkin 54Mbps Wireless Utility\TOOL in a default installation.
