How to Deal With Bubbles Under Your Screen Skinz Custom Screen Protector

Step 1: Look at the bubble

  • If it is a clear bubble with no dot, it is usually trapped air.
  • If it has a tiny dot in the middle, that dot is dust.

Step 2: Decide what to do

  • Small clear bubbles: wait 24–48 hours. They often shrink on their own.
  • Big bubbles, edge bubbles, or any bubble with a dot: fix it now by lifting and reseating.

Step 3: Get your tools

Grab these from the kit:

  • Cleaning cloth
  • Dust removal sticker
  • Installation tray (optional, but helpful for alignment)

Step 4: Fix a clear air bubble (no lifting needed)

  • Wrap your finger in the cleaning cloth.
  • Press in the center of the bubble.
  • Push the air toward the nearest edge in one slow motion.
  • Hold pressure for 10 seconds, then let go.
  • Repeat 2–3 times.

Step 5: Fix a bubble with dust (lift and reseat)

  • Wash and dry your hands.
  • Turn off any fan near you. Dust floating around makes it worse.
  • Lift the corner closest to the bubble very slowly. Only lift enough to reach the dusty spot.
  • Use the dust removal sticker to tap the dust off the phone screen.
  • If the protector’s sticky side picked up dust, tap that spot lightly with the dust sticker too.
  • Lower the protector back down slowly.
  • Press the center, then press outward to push air out.

Step 6: If the edge keeps lifting

  • Remove the phone case and check if it is pushing on the protector.
  • Press and hold the lifting edge for 30 seconds.
  • If it still lifts, lift that edge slightly, remove dust with the dust sticker, and reseat.

Step 7: Final check

  • Wipe the screen with the cloth.
  • Look under a bright light.
  • If the bubble is shrinking, you are done.

Important: What not to do

  • Do not put water or soap under the protector.
  • Do not peel it off and reapply repeatedly.
  • Do not press hard with a card or a tool.
