How to factory restore your Wemo WiFi Smart Plug for HomeKit

If you need to change your network settings, want to move your Wemo® to a new location or just want to remove all settings and customizations, a factory restore of your Wemo will help with that.  This article will walk you through how to factory restore your Wemo WiFi Smart Plug for HomeKit®.

NOTE:  Factory restoring a Wemo device is different from rebooting your Wemo.  Rebooting your Wemo does not remove any custom settings or customizations and can help in simple troubleshooting.  If you are looking for help in rebooting your Wemo Wi-Fi Smart Plug, WSP080, click

How to factory restore your Wemo Smart Plug

Step 1:  Unplug any devices from your Wemo and then unplug it from the power outlet.

Step 2:  Wait 5 seconds and then hold down the power button on the top of the unit and plug it back in.

Step 3:  Continue to hold the power button down until the status light begins flashing orange rapidly.  This will take about 5 seconds.

Step 4:  Once the status light begins flashing orange rapidly, release the power button.  Your Wemo will perform a factory restore and reboot.  When the factory restore is complete, the status light will flash orange and white.
