How to reboot the Belkin SOUNDFORM ELITE

If you are having trouble controlling, pairing, or experiencing playback issues with your Belkin SOUNDFORM™ ELITE Hi-Fi Smart Speaker + Wireless Charger, G1S0001, rebooting might help.  This article will guide you in rebooting the speaker.

NOTE:  Rebooting is not the same as restoring your speaker.  A reboot will power cycle your speaker while keeping all settings.  A restore will erase all settings and return your speaker back to its factory default settings.  For instructions on restoring your speaker to factory settings, click here.

Before you begin, you will need the following:
  • One or more Google Home™ smart speaker products
  • The latest Google Home app installed on your smartphone or tablet
  • A smartphone or tablet that is connected to the same Wi-Fi as your smart speaker

There are two ways to reboot the speaker:

Rebooting the smart speaker physically on the speaker
Rebooting the smart speaker through the Google Home app

Rebooting the smart speaker physically on the speaker

To reboot the speaker physically, simply unplug the power cord for 5 seconds and then plug it back in.  This will cause the speaker to power cycle.

IMPORTANT:  The reset button on the bottom of the speaker is for performing a factory restore and not for rebooting.

Rebooting the smart speaker through the Google Home app

Using the Google Home app, you can reboot a speaker.

NOTE:  The iOS version of the Google Home app is used in the example below.  While the screenshots may look different from the Android
version, the steps are the same.

Step 1:
Open the Google Home app and tap on the speaker you will reboot.

The status lights on the front of your speaker will light up and change colors during the reboot process.  Your speaker will play a tone once it is done rebooting for about a minute later.
