How to install the network adapter drivers from your hard drive

There are instances that you may prefer to install the driver of a wireless network adapter only, excluding the Wireless Client Utility that comes with the adapter.  This procedure is applicable if you want to use the built-in Windows support for wireless networking: the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) on Windows XP or WLAN Autoconfig utility on Windows Vista.

This article assumes the adapter is already in or connected to the computer and you have downloaded the necessary drivers.
