1. How much current does the TuneBase FM draw when idle without an iPod®?

When the iPod® is removed from the TuneBase and the TuneBase is left plugged into the cigarette lighter, it will draw about 9.2 mA of current, which amounts to about 110 mW of power at 12V. This current keeps the LED glowing.  When used in a car with a 12V 40Ah battery, it will take about 4,348 hours or 181 days before the battery is depleted.

2. Can I get a replacement fuse for my F8Z176?

If you require a replacement fuse for your F8Z176 TuneBase, you can find one in any good electronics or car parts store.  Ask for a fuse with the specifications of 1 Amp 250 volts with a 5mm diameter and 25mm length.  Fuses come in different sizes, it is recommended to take the bad fuse with you so you can get the right replacement.

3. Why can't I hear phone calls on my FM Transmitter after I updated my iPhone® to iOS4?

If you're having issues with your iPhone®'s volume after updating to iOS4, this is because some of your setting's have been reset.  The iPhone® has two (2) volume controls, one for Music and one for Voice (Phone).


To fix this problem, you need to be on a call and increase the phone's volume by adjusting the volume buttons on the left side.

4. Is the F8Z176 compatible with the iPod nano® 5G?

No.  The F8Z176 was first produced before the iPod nano® 5G came to market.  None of the supplied cradles fit this iPod®.

1. What does the ClearScan LIVE application do?

The ClearScan LIVE application uses the iPhone®'s GPS technology to help locate the best and clearest FM frequency for your specific location.

2. How do I get the ClearScan LIVE application?

The application can be downloaded from iTunes® or the App StoreSM. Simply search for "Belkin" in the App StoreSM, download it and install the app on your iPhone® or iPod Touch®.  After you have successfully installed the app, you can then launch it on your device.

3. Is TuneCast Auto LIVE compatible with my iPod nano® or classic?

The ClearScan LIVE application only works with iPhone® or iPod touch®. The TuneCast Auto LIVE has its own scanning feature and will still work with iPhone, iPod touch, nano, and classic even without the app.

4. Will TuneCast Auto LIVE work with Internet radio or music streaming apps like Pandora?

Yes.  The TuneCast Auto LIVE allows you to listen to your favorite Internet radio and music streaming apps in the car through your FM stereo.

2. What should I do if I hear strange noise whilst listening to music on the F4U037?

If you are experiencing interference/humming noises while listening to your music using the Belkin AirCast, you will need to adjust the sound levels on your device and car stereo system.  It is recommended to have your device volume at maximum and then adjust your cars audio system to your preferred level.  This should eliminate any unwanted noises.

2. Does this device work with the iPhone® 4/4s and older iPhones®?

Yes, Belkin F4U037 works with the iPhone® 4/4s and older iPhones®.

1. What should I do if my iPod® or iPhone® is not charging on the TuneBase?

If your iPod or iPhone is not charging on the TuneBase, try the following steps to resolve the issue:

  • Make sure your TuneBase has a good connection to your car's power outlet.

  • Make sure your iPod® is fully seated in the cradle.

  • Make sure the power outlet is receiving power. Some vehicles do not provide power to the power outlet unless the vehicle is in ignition mode or the engine is running.

2. What should I do if I cannot insert the cigarette lighter adapter into the power outlet?

If you cannot insert the cigarette lighter adapter, you have to center the friction washer.  Follow the steps below to know how to do this:

 

Step 1:
Use pliers to loosen the nut on the front of the cigarette lighter adapter slightly. Removing the nut is not necessary.

Step 2:
Move the friction washer back into centered position.

Step 3:
Tighten the nut firmly.


3. Why does the rubber friction washer remain in the power outlet even if I removed the TuneBase?

This is rare.  If it happens, remove the rubber washer from the power outlet and place it back on the cigarette lighter adapter.

WARNING:  Disconnect the vehicle's battery before removing the washer.  Any attempt to remove the washer without disconnecting the battery may result in physical harm to you or may cause damage to the vehicle.  Use pliers to carefully remove the friction washer from the power outlet.  Place the friction washer back on the cigarette lighter adapter.  Then, reconnect the vehicle's battery.

4. How do I get rid of the echoes when talking hands-free from my iPhone®?

To get rid of the echoes, you can try the following:

  • Position your iPhone® so that its screen is facing toward you and away from your car's speakers.

  • Make sure the ringer volume on your iPhone® is set to maximum.

  • Turn down your stereo volume until you no longer hear an echo.

1. Why is my TuneCast 2 auto power off after 60 seconds?

The TuneCast 2 is designed to power OFF after 59 seconds to meet CE regulations if there is no audio input.

2. Is the F8E462 voice recorder suitable for use in large lecture halls?

The F8E462 voice recorder can record audio or voice up to 24 inches away from the speaker; however this is not the primary intention of the product. In certain environments, other uses may be possible.
 

Thunderstorm


1. What is Thunderstorm, G3A1000?

The Belkin Thunderstorm is a handheld home theater with full range portable speaker for iPad.  To learn more about the features and functionality of Thunderstorm, check the Thunderstorm - User Guide.

2. What iPad® version is Thunderstorm G3A1000 compatible with?

Thunderstorm, Model G3A1000 is compatible with iPad® 2 and iPad® (3rd generation).

3. How long does it take to recharge Thunderstorm?

Thunderstorm always supplies a full charge current to the iPad®, when needed, so the amount of charge on the iPad battery, and whether Thunderstorm is playing audio, and at what volume level, determine how long Thunderstorm takes to charge.  If the Thunderstorm and iPad are charging together with the audio on, the Thunderstorm and iPad will take up to 6.5 hours charge.  If the iPad is fully charged or the Thunderstorm unit is charging without an iPad installed, the charge time is approximately 3.25 hours.

4. How do I recharge Thunderstorm?

To recharge Thunderstorm, plug the AC power cord into the port at the top of the unit and plug the other end of the power cord into an AC outlet.

5. Do I need the Thunder App to use the Belkin Thunderstorm G3A1000?

No, the Thunder App gives you access to support, shows the Thunderstorm's battery level, and allows you to change the mode to better match your content (gaming, audio, and movies) but it is not required.

1. How Do I Clean My In-Ear Headphones?

To clean your Belkin in-ear headphones, remove the silicone tips and wash them in warm, soapy water.  Completely dry the silicone tips before reattaching them to the headphones.

NOTE:  Do not use alcohol-based cleaners as they may cause damage to the product.

2. How Do I Get My In-Ear Headphones to Fit Properly?

Belkin headphones come with three different size silicone tips to ensure every user can experience the best sound experience.  The earphones should fit snugly in your ear without causing any discomfort.

Start with the medium sized tips that come pre-attached to the earphones.  If the earphones are too large or cause discomfort, try using the smaller tips included in the packaging.  If the earphones aren't forming a snug fit or they fall out too easily, try using the larger tips included in the packaging.

 

Dyle Mobile TV receivers


1. How Do I Improve the Dyle mobile TV receiver's signal strength?

Dyle mobile TV Receiver will produce pixilated images or stop playing if the signal strength is low or intermittent.  To improve the signal strength, try the following:

  • Check the Dyle mobile TV Receiver's coverage map and make sure your region is covered.

  • Make sure the antenna is fully extended and the Dyle mobile TV Receiver is securely connected.

  • Try moving to a different location.

2. What is the expected life and battery type of Dyle mobile TV?

The Dyle mobile TV receiver uses a single CR2032 3V coin cell. The battery has an expected life of one 91) year.

3. What can the micro USB port on the bottom of the Dyle be used with?

The micro USB port on the bottom of the Dyle can be used to charge devices.  You can also use a micro USB cable to connect the device you wish to charge to the mini USB port.

NOTE:  A micro USB cable is not included.

4. How do I find the Dyle mobile TV receiver networks offered in my area?

7. Does the Dyle mobile TV receiver work with a Lightning Adapter?

Dyle mobile TV receiver cannot currently connect with a Lightning Adapter.

8. Why won't sound play through my HD Bluetooth® music receiver after updating my iOS®?

Some customers are experiencing streaming quality issues after updating their iOS devices to run iOS 6.0, 6.1 and 6.1.1 when they use music encoded in the AAC format.  You can avoid these issues by converting the audio tracks to the MP3 format . Belkin has identified the problem behind this issue and will be addressing it going forward.  If you have an HD Bluetooth Music Receiver that was purchased before March 2013, you may qualify for a replacement unit. Please see Belkin's Returns & Claims.

9. Why am I receiving an error message on my Dyle mobile TV receiver?

In case you receive a connection error message on your Dyle mobile TV receiver, you may need to change the battery.  To do this, follow the steps below:

 

Step 1:
Unlock the battery cover by twisting it to the open icon.

Step 2:
Replace the battery.

Step 3:
Twist the battery cover back to the locked position.

1. How do I set up the HD Bluetooth® music receiver on my Android™ phone?

Setting up the HD Bluetooth Music Receiver for NFC-enabled smart devices running Android 4.0 or later is simple.  All you need are the following:

  • Your Belkin HD Bluetooth Music Receiver

  • An NFC-enabled smart devices running Android 4.0

  • Speakers or a stereo to play your music through.

3. How do I adjust the sound level on the HD Bluetooth® music receiver?

Once you've connected to your HD Bluetooth® music receiver, turning the volume up or down can be done in two (2) ways:

  • Raise or lower the volume on the smartphone or tablet connected to the music receiver.

  • Raise or lower the volume on the stereo or speakers connected to the music receiver.

4. How do I turn Off the HD Bluetooth® music receiver?

To disconnect from your HD Bluetooth® music receiver you need to turn off the connection. Follow the steps below to proceed:

5. What happens if I get a call while using the HD Bluetooth® music receiver?

Once you've connected to your HD Bluetooth® music receiver, you can still receive calls through your smartphone or iOS® device.  If you get a call while using your music receiver, the music player will be muted and will go into background mode.

6. How do I connect another device to the HD Bluetooth® music receiver?

The HD Bluetooth® Music Receiver will allow one (1) smartphone or tablet to connect to it at a time.  To switch from one (1) device to another, you need to end the existing Bluetooth connection with the smartphone or tablet.  To learn how to do this, click here.

7. What is the Range on the HD Bluetooth Music Receiver?

The music receiver's 30-foot range for Bluetooth connection gives you room to roam around your home.  If you move out of range or turn off the Bluetooth feature on your mobile device, the HD Bluetooth® music receiver will disconnect from your device.  To avoid a lost connection, move the HD Bluetooth® music receiver within 30 feet of the music device, or reduce obstructions between the receiver and your smart device.
