The Belkin Auto-Tracking Stand Pro with DockKit, MMA008, is not working with my video app

Last Updated: February 20, 2024

The Belkin Auto-Tracking Stand Pro with DockKit, MMA008 lets you attach your MagSafe®-compatible iPhone® to charge and use your favorite DockKit-compatible video and messaging apps to track your movement. If you need help with using the tracking functionality of the Belkin Stand Pro with your video app, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

Do you have a MagSafe-compatible iPhone?

DockKit compatibility was first introduced in iOS 17 and is designed for MagSafe-compatible iPhones. If your Phone is not MagSafe Compatible, not running iOS 17 or higher, or is not an iPhone, then it will not work with the Belkin Stand Pro. This is regardless of the video app you are using, or any case that adds magnetic holding to your phone.

Have you tried using the iOS built-in apps?

Apple
® develops these apps, and Belkin has tested them to work with the Belkin Stand Pro. The easiest to use would be the iOS camera app. Start the app and set it to Video Mode. The camera app will not perform facial tracking in camera mode, so choose the primary video mode. The camera app should recognize and begin tracking you as long as the Belkin MMA008 status LED is lit green and your face is in the frame.

If the Belkin Stand Pro can track you in video mode using the built-in camera app, then your Belkin MMA008 is functioning, and you will need to check with the developer of your video app for more assistance.

Is your video app DockKit-compatible?

The Belkin MMA008 utilizes the Apple DockKit functionality built into iOS to control motion tracking. If your app is not DockKit-compatible, then it will not be able to control the Belkin Stand Pro. If you need more clarification, check with Apple and your app manufacturer regarding DockKit compatibility.

Belkin has tested the following apps for DockKit compatibility with the Belkin Stand Pro:

  • FaceTime®
  • iOS Built-In camera app (Video Modes Only)
  • Instagram
  • Canva
  • YouTube™
  • Zoom
  • WebEx
  • WhatsApp
  • Filmic Pro
  • Microsoft Teams

Troubleshooting your Belkin Stand Pro to confirm it is working

Check that the Belkin Stand Pro has power.

Ensure your Belkin Stand Pro has power, either from a 30W USB-C® PD power supply or the built-in battery. The MagSafe pad will hold your MagSafe-compatible iPhone whether it is charging it or not, regardless of whether the Belkin Stand Pro has power.

Underneath the Belkin Logo on the front of the Belkin Stand Pro is a status LED. This LED will be lit if the Belkin Stand Pro has power and is turned ON. Hold the power button on the Belkin Stand Pro base for 2 seconds if the LED is OFF. The LED will illuminate when it is powered ON.

If using the Belkin Stand Pro without a power supply connected, it will run OFF of the internal battery. If the battery level is too low to power the Belkin Stand Pro, the status LED will flash orange three times when trying to turn it ON and immediately power it OFF. A 30W USB-C PD power supply will need to be connected to the Belkin Stand Pro to begin charging the internal battery and begin using your stand.

Remove and reconnect your iPhone.

If the Belkin Stand Pro does have power and the status LED is lit, remove your phone from the MagSafe pad and wait 10 seconds. The status LED will turn white to signify it is not in tracking mode and awaiting a phone connection. After 10 seconds, place the iPhone back onto the pad and wait another 10 seconds. During that time, the LED should turn green shortly after placing the iPhone on the pad, and shortly after that, the Belkin Stand Pro will self-calibrate by tilting the iPhone forward and back once.

If your phone has never been paired with the Belkin Stand Pro, hold the phone to the top of the base on your Belkin Stand Pro to activate the NFC pairing.

Toggle Bluetooth® on your iPhone.

Toggling Bluetooth OFF and then back ON will restart the Bluetooth radio on your phone and allow you to re-establish a connection with the Belkin Stand Pro. After Bluetooth has been enabled, place your phone's MagSafe pad to connect back with the stand.

Reboot the Belkin Stand Pro.

Power cycling the Belkin Belkin Stand Pro can help clear any operating errors and start it back fresh, including a new connection to your iPhone. Press and hold the Power Button on the front of the Belkin Stand Pro for 2 seconds. The status LED should be OFF. Wait 10 seconds, then press and hold the power button for another 2 seconds. The Status LED will illuminate to show it has powered back ON and is booting.

Factory Restore the Belkin Stand Pro.

If the other steps above did not help, try a factory restore. On the bottom of the Belkin Stand Pro base is a restore button. Press and hold this button for 6 seconds. The Status LED on the Belkin Stand Pro will flash orange 6 times to indicate the restore has started. The status LED will begin to slowly blink white once the restore has finished and you can pair a phone with the stand.

NOTE: A factory restore will remove all paired phones from the Belkin Stand Pro. Any previously paired phone will need to be set up again using NFC pairing.
