How to Attach Your Belkin WIC012 Vent Mount

This guide applies to WIC012 and BBB012hqBK‑MR.

The vent mount lets you securely attach your phone to your car’s air vent for easy viewing while driving. Its adjustable hook and tightening knob help keep the mount stable during everyday use. Follow the steps below to attach the vent mount safely and correctly.

Step 1: Loosen the vent hook.

  • Turn the adjustment knob to open the vent hook wide enough to fit onto your car’s air vent slat.

Step 2: Position the hook.

  • Rotate the hook so it’s properly aligned and ready to slide behind the vent slat.

Step 3: Attach to the air vent.

  • Carefully insert the hook behind a sturdy air vent slat and gently pull the mount forward, so it sits flush against the vent.

Step 4: Tighten to secure.

  • Turn the adjustment knob until the mount feels firmly secured and does not move.

Important Note: Because this mount attaches to an air vent, warm air from your vehicle’s heater may cause your phone to heat up. If you’re using the heater, we recommend redirecting airflow away from the mount or using a cooler vent setting to help prevent overheating.

Helpful Tips for Attaching the Vent Mount

  • Choose a sturdy vent slat that doesn’t flex easily for the most secure hold.
  • Loosen the adjustment knob fully before positioning the hook behind the vent slat.
  • Tighten the knob slowly until the mount feels secure. Do not overtighten.
  • Redirect warm airflow away from the mount if your heater is running to help prevent phone overheating.

Vent Mount Installation FAQs

Q1. Why does my phone feel warm when using the vent mount?

Because the mount attaches to an air vent, warm air from your vehicle heater can flow directly onto your phone. Redirecting airflow or using a cooler vent setting can help reduce heat buildup.

Q2. What should I do if the vent mount feels loose?

Check that the hook is positioned behind a solid vent slat and tighten the adjustment knob until the mount is secure. If the vent slat moves easily, try a different vent for better stability.
