Manually setting up the Belkin RX7500

This article will show you how to manually set up the Belkin WiFi 6 Range Extender, RX7500
 
Step 1:
Connect a computer or a mobile device to the default SSID of your range extender, which is Belkin Extender Setup – xxx.

QUICK TIP:  xxx is the last three characters of the range extender's MAC Address.  The MAC Address of your range extender is located on the label at the back of the device. 
 

Step 2:
Click the Manual Setup link to bypass the Setup Wizard.

Step 3:
Enter the default Password, which is admin.

Step 4:
First, select your preferred Operation Mode for your network.  By default, Wireless Range Extender is selected.

NOTE:  For Wired Range Extender mode (this requires an ethernet cable), click on Change and select the Access Point mode and follow the instructions.

Step 5:
Click on Site Survey from the menu on the left-hand side.

The Site Survey page allows you to connect your range extender to your upstream connection one band at a time.  For Wireless Range Extender, select your WiFi name for the 2.4 GHz band and click Connect and enter your wireless password when prompted.

Step 6:
Once your range extender is successfully connected, the light will turn solid blue.  Now connect your wireless computer or mobile device to your range extender’s new WiFi name xxxx_Ext, where xxxx is the name you selected in the Site Survey list appended by _Ext.

Step 7:
Log back into the range extender at http://extender.belkin.com.  The default password is admin.

NOTE:  You must be connected to the range extender’s WiFi name in order to access the link, if the link does not work try http://RX7500-xxx where xxx is the last three characters of the MAC address of the range extender shown on the back label of the range extender.

Step 8:
If you have a Dual-band or Tri-band wireless router, repeat step 5 and select your WiFi name for the 5 GHz band and click Connect.  The range extender’s light will turn orange and then turn solid blue again once it is connected back to the network.

Step 9:
To confirm if your range extender is setup properly, connect your wireless computer or mobile device to your range extender’s WiFi name and go to http://extender.belkin.com. The default password is admin. Click on WLAN Statistics in the menu and check the Connected status, you see Connected for both networks.

Step 10:
Now that your range extender is connected to your upstream connection, it is highly recommended to change the default administrative password.  Click on Administration > Management and change the range extender’s password, this is your administrative password to access your range extender’s settings.  Click Save when you are done.
