Reconnecting your Wemo® device after replacing the router or changing the router settings


Replacing your router or changing its settings will disconnect your Wemo® device from the Wi-Fi.  In this case, the Wemo device needs to be reconfigured with your new router settings.  This article will help you reconnect the Wemo device after setting up a new router or changing the router’s settings.  
 
Before reconnecting your Wemo device, do the following:
  • Reset your Wemo device to its default settings.  To learn how, click here.
  • Check if your Wemo App is up to date.  Click here to go to the Wemo App page in App Store®.  For Android™ users, click here.

After resetting your Wemo device to factory defaults, follow the steps below:

Step 1:  Go to Settings on your Android or iOS device, then select Wi-Fi.

Step 2:  On the list of available Wi-Fi, choose your Wemo network.
 
QUICK TIP:  The Wemo network is the word Wemo followed by the name of your Wemo device then three alpha numeric characters.  
In the example below, Wemo.Light.010 is the Wemo network.

If you can't see the Wemo network in the list of available Wi-Fi, try to do any of the following:
  • Switch the Wi-Fi on your Android or iOS device OFF then ON.
  • Switch your Wemo device OFF then ON.
  • Unplug and re-plug your Wemo device from the power outlet.
If the Wemo network still doesn't appear on the list of available Wi-Fi, click here for more troubleshooting instructions.

Step 3:  Launch the User-added image App.  Select your Wi-Fi name and enter your password when prompted.  If your Wemo device is not in the App, click here for troubleshooting steps.
 
NOTE:  If you have multiple Wemo devices, select Save Wi-Fi settings to speed up the setup process.
 
Step 4:  
Repeat the process for each additional Wemo devices.
