How to use Face Recognition on the Wemo Doorbell

Face Recognition is a feature of the Home app and works with HomeKit compatible cameras such as the Wemo Smart Video Doorbell, WDC010.  It recognizes familiar faces and displays names of the individuals it sees in notifications and recorded clips.

Face Recognition is a feature of the Home app and not of the Wemo Doorbell.  Facial recognition analysis is all done locally in your home and requires the use of a Home Hub to do the processing.  No data is transmitted over the internet for facial recognition and it can be turned OFF at any point.  For more information, please refer to the Home app.

How to enable or disable Face Recognition

Step 1:  Open the Apple® Home app and locate the tile for your doorbell.

How to associate names to recognized faces

On the Face Recognition settings screen, you will see a list of people that the camera has seen but does not recognize.  Tapping on a tile allows you to associate a name to the person in the photo.
