Your Belkin PP4.0 Secure KVM / KM product enables authorized administrators to access the Administrator Configuration Terminal to view and download event logs, audit the product operation, and change advanced settings.
Each KVM / KM has a default administrator user account and can have up to 8 additional administrator accounts added. All accounts have their username and password. Although usernames cannot be changed without removing the account, passwords can be changed using the Administrator Configuration Terminal.
IMPORTANT: To change a password, you will need access to the administrator account you want to change the password for. You cannot change the password of another user, even using the default administrator account. If you have lost the password for this account, there is no way for it to be recovered from your KVM. If it is one of the 8 additional administrator accounts, you can delete all of the accounts and set them back up.
1. Log in to the Administrator Configuration Terminal.
2. Choose Menu 4 – account management.
3. Choose option 1 – change password.
4. You will be prompted to enter the password. The password must adhere to the following criteria:
- Must be between 8 and 24 characters long
- Must have at least 1 capital letter
- Must have at least 1 lower-case letter
- Must have at least 1 number
- Must have at least 1 special character (symbol)
When changing the default password, you will be prompted to enter it again to confirm it matches. If it does not match, you will receive an error.
A message will be displayed once the password is changed. The new password can be used to log in immediately.
