Changing the Belkin Router's Bandwidth Settings


Changing the bandwidth settings of your Belkin router is very helpful in ensuring seamless and uninterrupted data transfers.  This article will teach you how to change your Belkin router's bandwidth settings. 
 
Step 1:
Connect one end of an Ethernet cord to one of the router's four (4) LAN ports and the other end to your computer.

QUICK TIP:  If you are wirelessly connected to your Belkin router, immediately proceed to Step 2.

NOTE:  The back of your router may look different depending on its model.  For more examples, click here.

Step 2:
On your computer, open any browser (e.g. Internet Explorer®, Mozilla Firefox®, Google Chrome™ or Safari®).

Step 3:
In the Address bar, enter "192.168.2.1" and press [Enter] on your keyboard.  You will then be directed to the router's web-based setup page.

NOTE:  If the default IP Address doesn't work, check your router's IP Address.  For instructions, click here.  You may also enter "http://router" in the Address bar to access the router's web-based setup page.
 
Step 4:
Click Login on the upper right corner of the screen.

Step 5:
Enter your router's Password then click Submit.

NOTE:  If you haven't set up a Password for your router, leave the field blank then click Submit.
 
Step 6:
Under the Wireless section, click Channel and SSID.

Step 7:
In the Channel and SSID page, select your desired Bandwidth from the drop-down menu, and click Apply Changes to save your settings.

NOTE:  If you are using the Dashboard, click Advance Settings> Wi-Fi> Bandwidth.  Select your desired bandwidth and click Save.

Your Belkin router's wireless bandwidth settings have now been updated.
