HARDWARE INFORMATION

1.  What is @TV and @TV Premium?

The Belkin @TV or @TV premium is a set-top box that allows you to view live and recorded TV programs from anywhere using your laptop, mobile phone or tablet either through a wireless connection or a mobile network.

2.  How do I change the volume on my @TV?

You can set the desired volume range of your @TV using the volume tool located at the bottom-right of the screen.  To mute, click the speaker icon on the volume tool.

3.  Can the output from an HD antenna be used for @TV?

Yes.  Just connect the antenna input to an ATSC digital tuner box and the tuner's video outputs to @TV.

4.  Why are some channels not working when using an HDMI connection?

Some paid channels may not transmit data over a component cable because an HDMI cable is being used simultaneously.  Here are a few tips that you can try to resolve the issue:
  • Unplug the HDMI cable from the TV and cable box then reboot the cable box.
  • Connect the cable box to the @TV device using a component cable.
  • Connect the @TV device to the TV using another component cable.
5.  How do I find the model number on my cable box?

Model numbers are usually printed on the front or back panel of your cable box.  If you can't find it, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for assistance.

6.  Why are some buttons grayed out on my @TV remote?
  • You may have selected the wrong set-top box during the setup process.
  • Most remotes are universal, but some functionality may not be available on your remote.  The remote on your @TV will only control the functions on your set-top box.
7.  Does @TV work on an iPad® and iPod touch®?

Yes, the iPad® and iPod touch® will work with the @TV as long as they have internet connection either through wireless or 3G connection.

8.  Does the @TV (G1V1000) contain lithium?

No.  The @TV (G1V1000) does not contain lithium as there are no batteries in this product.

SOFTWARE INFORMATION

1.  What are the system requirements to run @TV on my device?

@TV Requirements
  • Internet connection
  • Minimum of 110 MB free Hard Disk Space (more if using the DVR feature)
Device Requirements
  • Windows® 7, Windows Vista® or Windows® XP (Service Pack 3)
  • Mac®: OS X® 10.5 or above
  • iPad or iPhone® 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S
NOTE:  25 MB free memory is required on the iPhone/iPad to install the @TV Plus Player.
  • Android™: OS 2.1 or higher
NOTE:  The minimum connection speed that will give a good viewing experience should be 384 Kbps uplink and 512 Kbps download.  The uplink speed is more important, and should be 784 Kbps to 2 Mbps or more to have uninterrupted streaming.  If your current connection falls below the required speed, it is recommended to increase your streaming speed.  Contact your ISP to do this.

2.  Is it possible to have multiple users on my @TV connection?

Yes, but there are limitations:
  • Multiple users can be connected if they are all on the home Wi-Fi where @TV is connected.
  • You can't have multiple remote users connected at the same time.
  • You can't have a remote user and a user on the Wi-Fi at the same time.
3.  Are there @TV program recording limitations with my phone?

The @TV software allows you to record live TV from your phone but the recording will stop once your phone receives an incoming call whether it is answered or not.  The recording will be lost during the duration of a call and will need to be restarted.

4.  Why does a conflict prompt with Skype® appear when uninstalling @TV?

When you installed @TV Player software on your computer, an entry was made to your Windows Registry that allowed Skype® to recognize the @TV Player as a camera for its video messaging services.  In case you encounter this message, you may proceed with the uninstallation of the @TV Player as it will not affect Skype usage in any way.

SPECIAL FEATURES

1.  Can @TV be viewed in high definition (1080/720p etc.)?

@TV's maximum resolution both in and out of home is 480p only.

2.  Will @TV work with a third-party DVR like TiVo®?

In most cases, you should be able to control a TiVo® or other third-party DVR with @TV.  During setup, select TiVo or another product from the set-top box model list.  Then control it using the @TV IR blaster, like a cable or satellite box.  There may be a slight delay (for instance, from click to channel change) as the command passes from TiVo to satellite box.  Otherwise, the experience should be similar to a cable or satellite box directly connected to your @TV.

3.  Why can't I record my @TV directly to an iPhone® 4 over 3G?

Recording over 3G to an iPhone® 4 is not supported on Belkin @TV.  However the iPhone 4 can record when connected to the Wi-Fi.

4.  Can I use @TV abroad?

Yes.  To watch @TV from outside your home country just make sure you have enough bandwidth on both ends for a good connection.  There are a variety of tools on the internet to see how fast your connections are.  You should make sure to download or use a tool from a reputable source.

QUICK TIP:  The minimum connection speed to view @TV should be 384 Kbps uplink and 512 Kbps download.  The uplink speed is more important, and should be 784 Kbps to 2 Mbps or more for optimal viewing experience.

SETUP AND CONFIGURATION

1.  What are the keyboard shortcuts on my Windows computer that I can use with the @TV?

To see a complete list of shortcuts, click here.

2.  Do I need to use static IP with @TV?

If your router does not support Universal Plug-n-Play (UPnP®), it is recommended to assign a static IP for @TV.  For step-by-step instructions on how to set up a static IP for Windows, click here.  For Mac®, click here.  Alternatively you can use the DHCP address reservation feature on your router to allow the IP address to be permanent for your @TV.  This can be used in place of entering a static IP address on the @TV.  For more information on setting up DHCP reservation, check your router's documentation.

3.  Do I need to configure my router to use @TV?

If your router supports UPnP, then @TV should configure your router automatically.  Most current consumer routers support UPnP.  If yours does not, you need to do port forwarding and set up a static IP address on your @TV.  To learn how to forward ports, here.  To set up a static IP address, click here.

4.  Can I use @TV with satellite internet service?

It is not recommended to use @TV with satellite internet service.

5.  Which should I choose if I get multiple options for service provider during @TV setup?

Choose the name that is on your ISP bill.

6.  Where should I place my @TV?

When setting up your @TV, make sure it is physically within reach of your set-top box.  You will need to control @TV using the IR blasters and will need to connect it to the TV and set-top box with audio and video cables.

7.  Do I need administrator privileges when setting up @TV?

Yes.  You need to be the Administrator of your computer or acquire Administrator Privileges to install and set up @TV.  If you are not logged in as the administrator of the computer you are installing the @TV software on, you will get an error message requiring you to have administrator privileges.

WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY

1.  How do I avoid frequent dropped @TV connections?

For mobile users such as those using iPhone, iPad, or Android devices:

1.  Move the mobile device to a location that has a strong signal.
2.  Adjust picture quality to a lower setting.

For computer users either Windows or Mac:

1.  Move the computer to a location that has a strong signal.
2.  Restart the @TV box connected to your cable or satellite box through the computer software.
3.  Adjust picture quality to a lower setting.
4.  Check with your ISP on the quality / speed of your internet connection.

2.  Is my password for @TV case-sensitive?

Yes, the password is case-sensitive.  It is also recommended for your password to contain lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, and non-alphanumeric symbols to maximize the passwords effectiveness.

3.  Why can't I rename the ad-hoc network name when my @TV is on advance setup mode?

If you choose ad-hoc networking mode in @TV, you will be unable to change the network name.  Ad-hoc networking is different because you are not connecting to a pre-existing named network.  Ad-hoc networking creates a network on-the-fly with any device placed in the network.  It is not as efficient as traditional networks.

Since there is no centralized network that you are connecting to, you will not be able to change the name of the network and since it is ad-hoc, its name cannot be changed.

4.  What should I do if I forgot my @TV's password?

If you've forgotten your @TV's password, you cannot retrieve or reset your password.  You must reset your @TV unit and create a new @TV user name and password.  Click here to learn how to reset your @TV.

Yes.  Follow the steps here to properly adjust and improve the screen quality.

4.  Why do I get a 'Not Responding' message when I try to launch the @TV Player?

The 'Not Responding' message may be caused by the following issues:

1.  Power or cable outages - If you've experienced this, do the following:
  • Reboot the @TV unit.
  • Unplug the @TV power supply either from the wall outlet or the @TV unit.  Wait for 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect and relaunch the @TV player.
2.  If you're connected to a company network (Proxy Server), there may be a firewall preventing you from connecting.  Check with your IT department to solve the issue.

UPGRADE / UPDATE

1.  What should I do if the set-top box isn't listed in the @TV setup?
