Wemo Mini Smart Plug, F7C063 Troubleshooting Tips

If you are having trouble with your Wemo® Mini Smart Plug, F7C063 check the following troubleshooting tips below.

The Wemo App is not finding my Wemo Mini during setup

Make sure your Wemo Mini is plugged in and the light is alternating white and orange.  If the light is not alternating white and orange, consider the following:
  • If the light is OFF or solid white, the Wemo Mini may already be connected to your Wi-Fi.  Close and reopen the Wemo App while staying connected to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (same as your Wemo Mini).  The Wemo App should see your Wemo Mini.
  • Unplug the Wemo Mini and plug it back in to restart it.
  • If neither of the above works, restore your Wemo Mini to factory default settings.  For more instructions, click here

My Wi-Fi doesn’t appear in the Wemo App

Do you have at least two Wi-Fi bars on your smartphone?  If not, you may be experiencing interference.  Consider the following tips below.
    • Close the Wemo App and restart your router.  Reopen the Wemo App.
    • If your Wi-Fi is still not showing up in the Wemo App, you may not have a strong Wi-Fi signal in the area where you are installing the Wemo Mini.  We recommend either installing the Wemo Mini in an area where there is a strong signal or upgrading your router to provide adequate Wi-Fi coverage.

The Wemo App keeps crashing and/or freezing

Does your Wemo App keep on crashing or freezing?  Consider the following tips below.
    • Force quit and reopen the Wemo App.
    • If that didn’t work, delete the Wemo App, reinstall it, and open it again.

What does the light on Wemo Mini tell me?

There are six states that the Wemo Mini status light can be in:
    • OFF means your Wemo Mini is connected and is working normally.
    • Blinking white and orange means your Wemo Mini is ready for setup.
    • Solid white for 30 seconds means setup was successful and your Wemo Mini is ON.
    • Blinking white means the firmware is updating.
    • Solid orange means the Wi-Fi signal is weak.  Try moving your Wemo Mini closer to your router.
    • Blinking orange means your Wemo Mini is not connected to the Wi-Fi.  Try to unplug your router and Wemo Mini then plug them back in.

    Replacing your router

If you get a new router or change your Wi-Fi name and/or password, you can connect to a new router without losing your Wemo Mini’s settings.

Step 1:  Press and hold the power button.  Hold down the power button on the Wemo Mini and wait for the light to change from orange to blinking white (light should rapidly blink white).

Step 2:  Release the power button.  Be sure to release while the light is rapidly blinking or you will reset your Mini to factory settings and have to set it up again.  Any rules would be lost, as well.

Step 3:  When the light begins to alternate between white and orange, go to the Wemo App to add your Wemo Mini to your Wi-Fi.

    Still having trouble?

    Try power-cycling your router
Unplug router and plug it back in.

If all else fails, restore your Wemo Mini to factory settings
Unplug your Wemo Mini.  Press and hold the power button while you plug it back in.  Keep holding the button until the light starts blinking white, then release.  Wait for your Wemo Mini to restart (about 20 seconds).
