The Wemo Stage Smart Scene Controller, WSC010 is a Bluetooth®-powered HomeKit® remote that provides a physical way to control the HomeKit Scenes.  With the ability to be used as a remote or attached to the wall like a light switch with its magnetic faceplate, the Wemo WSC010 provides a convenient way to control your HomeKit devices without using the Apple® Home app.  To know more, click here.

2.  What are HomeKit Scenes?

In HomeKit, Scenes allow you to control multiple accessories at the same time.  Using a Scene, it is possible to have multiple functions happen at once depending on the devices in the Scene.  For example, you can create a night-time Scene which dims the lights in your rooms and turns ON your porch lights.  You can also create a movie time Scene which dims the lights, turns ON your home theater equipment and your television.  Scenes are created using the HomeKit app on your iOS or macOS® device.

The cradle comes with a pre-installed 3M double-sided tape.

Below are the basic troubleshooting steps for control issues:
  • Make sure that your home hub is using the latest software.
  • Make sure that your iOS or tvOS® is running on at least version 14.5 or later because these versions have enhancements for HomeKit control. 

4.  How do I troubleshoot when the mounting cradle is not sticking to the wall?

You may try the following options:
  • Make sure the wall is clean and dry.  Rubbing alcohol cleans and dries fast.  Other cleaners may take longer to dry.
  • Make sure the protective film is removed from the tape strips.
  • Make sure that the surface can accept a taped item on it.  Rough surfaces such as stucco do not work well for adhesive tape items. 
  • The surface should be as flat as possible.
