Belkin NIAP PP4.0 Secure KVM and KM Administrator Advanced Configurations – How to Remove Additional Admin User Accounts

Last updated: 5/29/2024

Each KVM / KM has a default Admin user account that cannot be modified or removed from the KVM / KM, other than by changing the password. For security and auditing purposes, up to 8 additional administrator accounts can be created for each KVM / KM unit you deploy. These additional accounts can be removed if needed.

The additional administrator accounts cannot be removed individually. All accounts must be removed at the same time, and any accounts you wish to keep will need to be recreated. Due to this, we recommend changing the password of an administrator account rather than removing it when possible.

Remove additional administrator accounts using the Administrator Configuration Terminal

IMPORTANT: This will erase all additional administrator accounts on this KVM / KM. It will not remove anything else and will not impact the default administrator account.

1. Log in to the Administrator Configuration Terminal.

2. Choose Menu 4 – account management.

3. Choose option 3 – delete all accounts.

All accounts will be deleted from the KVM / KM leaving only the default administrator account. You can now create up to 8 new accounts.

Remove additional administrator accounts with a factory restore

A factory restore will erase the additional administrator accounts as well as remove all customizations on the KVM /KM. If you have additional accounts but have lost access to the main administrator account, we recommend not performing a factory restore on the KVM / KM. If you do perform a factory restore you will lose all access to the Administrator Configuration Terminal.
