The Belkin Auto-Tracking Stand Pro with DockKit, MMA008, is not tracking while using the iOS built-in camera app

Last Updated: February 20, 2024

The Belkin Auto-Tracking Stand Pro with DockKit, MMA008 lets you attach your MagSafe®-compatible iPhone® to charge and use your favorite DockKit-compatible video and messaging apps to track your movement. When using the iOS built-in camera app, you may notice that the tracking functionality with the Belkin Stand Pro does not immediately activate.

The iOS built-in camera app is DockKit-compatible and can be used with the Belkin MMA008. By default, the camera app opens in still photo mode. This is indicated by the word "Photo" in yellow next to the shutter button. In photo mode, the Belkin MMA008 will hold your phone but not follow your movements.

You must switch to video mode to use the Belkin MMA008 tracking functionality with the camera app. Once changed, the app will begin motion tracking on a person detected in the camera frame. The iPhone camera can be switched to either the front or back view to help with ensuring that you are in the camera view.

The Belkin Stand Pro will continue facial tracking until one of the following actions is taken:

1. The camera app is minimized.
2. The camera app is closed.
3. The camera app is switched out of video mode.
4. The phone screen is locked.
5. Motion tracking is disabled by pressing the Belkin Stand Pro power button.
