Setup fails when adding the Wemo Mini to the Apple Home app

Scenario 1:  When adding another Wemo® Mini Smart Plug, F7C063 to the Apple Home app, it times out and the setup fails.
 
To fix this issue, follow the steps below.
 
Before you begin:
  • Make sure you have the Wemo Mini’s Quick Start guide.
 
Step 1:  Plug the Wemo Mini into a power source.
 
Step 2:  Wait until the Wi-Fi indicator light flashes white and orange.
 
Step 3:  Choose an item you want to control (e.g., bedside lamp or fan) and plug it into your Wemo Mini.

Step 4:  Open the Apple Home app User-added image.
 
 
Step 5:  Tap the User-added image icon and choose Add Accessory.

Step 6:  Tap the Don't Have a Code or Can't Scan? link.
 
NOTE:  Do not unplug the Wemo Mini during this step as setup will fail.
 
Step 7:  Tap Enter code...
 
QUICK TIP:  Once the app detects that your Wemo Mini is nearby, a Wemo Mini tile will appear on the screen.  You may tap the tile to manually enter the code.
 
Step 8:  Enter the eight-digit Apple® HomeKit™ code of your device found on the Quick Start guide.
 
Step 9:  Wait until you see the Your new accessory is ready to use. message.  This means the device has been successfully added.  Follow the rest of the steps on the app to complete the setup.
