PRODUCT INFORMATION
 
1. What is the Wemo® Maker™, F7C043?
 
The Wemo® Maker™, F7C043 allows you to control low voltage devices such as blinds, sprinklers, irrigation system, pool pump, powered gates and etc. from anywhere.  It is a device that brings Wemo internet connectivity and gives control to the do it yourself (DIY)-minded consumers. 
 
Wemo Maker uses the Wemo App to control the ON/OFF functions of the connected appliance.

WARNING:  Basic circuitry knowledge is required to use this product.  Make sure you know what to do and the expected results from connecting devices to the Wemo Maker.
 
2. What are the product features of my Wemo Maker?
 
The major product features of your Wemo Maker are as follows:
  • 2.4 GHz band IEEE 802.11 b/g/n
  • Wemo compatible
  • Manages electronics that have simple DC switch from anywhere
  • Checks the status of your device anytime
  • Changes control functions between momentary or toggle to fit a wide range of applications
  • Monitors/measures anything using existing in market DC sensors to control your appliances
  • Requires no knowledge of programming
3. What are the requirements for the Wemo Maker to work?
  • Wemo version 1.9 and later
  • iOS 6 and higher
  • Android™ 4.0 and higher
  • Power source (USB cable included)
  • Existing wireless network
4. How do I use my Wemo Maker?  What are the product warnings and limitations?
 
When using your Wemo Maker, ensure that you follow the product warnings and limitations below:
  • Make sure that your Wemo Maker is disconnected from any power source before connecting a device to it.
  • Do NOT touch the Relay terminals of the maker while power is ON.
  • Do NOT connect any Relay connections with voltage higher than:
  • 24 V at 1 amp max
  • Do NOT connect any Sensor connections with voltage higher than:
  • 5 DC at 100 mA max.
  • The Wemo Maker is used indoors and in a dry location ONLY.

2. What Switch Type does my Wemo Maker support?
 
The Wemo Maker supports both Toggle and Momentary Switch Types.
 
3. What Switch Type should I select?
 
The Switch Type depends on the kind of device that you are connecting to the Wemo Maker.

4. What is the difference between Toggle and Momentary?
  • Toggle - Indefinitely turns the Wemo Maker ON/OFF
  • Momentary - Will pulse the Relay contacts in the Wemo Maker for 300 ms
5. Can I connect a Sensor to my Wemo Maker?
 
Yes.  The Sensor on your Wemo Maker can either be of the two options:
  • No - No sensor device connected to Sensor contacts
  • Yes - A sensor device is connected to the Sensor contacts
6. How do I create a Rule?

Creating a Rule on your Wemo Maker is the same as the other Wemo products except for a few more options when the Sensor is set to Yes.  To learn more, click here.
 
7. How do I create a Rule with a Sensor?
 
When Sensor is set to Yes, the With Maker Sensor option would be available which could either be Sensor not triggered or Sensor triggered.  Also, the With Maker Sensor depends on the Switch Type set on the Wemo Maker:
  • Switch Type, Toggle - Options are on, off immediately or off
  • Switch Type, Momentary - Only option is on
NOTE:  If you have a Rule with sensor configuration as part of that Rule and you change the Sensor Type from Yes to No, this would disable that specific Rule since Sensor no longer applies.
 
8. Can I connect a device to the contacts while the Wemo Maker is ON?
 
No.  Make sure that the Wemo Maker is disconnected and completely powered OFF before you connect a device to it.
 
9. What is the voltage limitation I can connect to the Relay contacts?
 
Do not connect any Relay contacts with voltage higher than 24 V 1 A.
 
10. What is the requirement for the Sensor leads?
 
The requirement is 5 V DC at 100 mA.

11. Can I use the Wemo Maker outdoors?  
 
No.  The maker is to be used indoors only and in a dry location.
 
12. Does the Wemo Maker only work on 2.4 GHz band?
 
Yes.
 
13. Is the antenna detachable?
 
No.
 
14. Do I have to use the antenna straight up always?
 
No.  The Wemo Maker doesn’t require the antenna to always be straight up, it depends on the device’s position.
 
15. How does the Wemo Maker receive power?
 
The Wemo Maker receives its power from an outboard 5 V 1 A PSU via a micro USB connection.
 
16. Do I need to have knowledge in programming to use this product?
 
No, knowledge in programming is not required to use this product.
