Wemo Smart Light Switch, F7C030 Requirements

Before installing the Wemo® Smart Light Switch, F7C030, you will need to comply with the requirements stated below.

Electrical Installation Requirements
  • A neutral wire - requires all three AC electrical connections at the wall switch.
  • A single pole light switch - the Wemo Smart Light Switch is not compatible with lights controlled by more than one switch.
  • The light switch box must be 2 in deep.

IMPORTANT:  The Wemo Smart Light Switch is not designed to work with metal faceplates as it interferes with the Wi-Fi signal.  It is also recommended only for residential and dry indoor locations.

Setup and Mobile Requirements

Wi-Fi Signal Requirement
Before setting up the Wemo Smart Light Switch, make sure the area where it will be placed has a strong Wi-Fi signal.  Hold your mobile device next to the switch and check the status bar which should have at least two or more signal bars.
