Resolving setup issues with your Wemo® LED Lighting Starter Set, F5Z0489

If you are encountering issues in setting up your Wemo® LED Lighting Starter Set, F5Z0489, you can try performing a reset on your Wemo® Link and the LED Bulbs to ensure that they are in proper mode for setup.
The instructions below will guide you on how to reset and resolve your setup issue:
Reset the Wemo Link
Delete and reinstall the Wemo App
Connect to the Wemo Link's Wi-Fi®
Reset the Wemo® Smart LED Bulbs
Complete the setup process

Reset the Wemo Link
The first step to resolve your setup issues is to reset the Wemo Link.  Press the Restore button on the side panel of the Wemo Link and hold it down while plugging the device into the power outlet.  Keep holding the button for another 5 seconds and wait until you see an alternating green and orange blinking light on it.

Delete and reinstall the Wemo App
Delete and uninstall the Wemo App from your iOS or Android™ device.  Once the app is removed, download it again from the App Store® for iOS devices, from Google Play™ store for Android devices, or from Amazon Appstore for Fire devices.
IMPORTANT:  DO NOT OPEN or launch the Wemo App yet.

Connect to the Wemo Link’s Wi-Fi®
On your smartphone, connect to the Wemo Link’s Wi-Fi and complete the setup instructions below:

Step 1:  On your smart device, tap Settings > Wi-Fi > WeMo.Link.xxx.

NOTE:  The default Wi-Fi name of the Wemo Link has this format:  WEMO.Link.xxx.  The xxx represents the last 3 digits of the serial number of the Wemo Link.

Step 2:  Launch the Wemo App.

Step 3:  The app will try to scan for nearby Wi-Fi.  On the list of available networks, select your Wi-Fi.  Once you are connected to the Wi-Fi, the Remote Access feature will also be enabled.  Tap OK.

Step 4:  The screen below will appear confirming the Wemo Link has been successfully set up.  It will now proceed to set up the Wemo® Smart LED Bulbs.

Reset the Wemo® Smart LED Bulbs
When setting up the Wemo® Smart LED Bulbs, they should be on default settings, NOT paired to any other Wemo Link.  To ensure that the lightbulbs are on default settings, reset them by following the steps below:

Step 1:  Start with the Wemo® Smart LED Bulb being in the ON position.

Step 2:  Turn OFF for 4-5 seconds.

Step 3:  Turn ON for 4-5 seconds.

Step 4:  Turn OFF for 4-5 seconds.

Step 5:  Turn ON for 4-5 seconds.

Step 6:  Turn OFF for 4-5 seconds.

Step 7:  Turn it ON and leave it as it is.  After about seconds, the Wemo® Smart LED Bulb will flash which shows a successful reset.

NOTE:  If you try the reset steps again, the Wemo® Smart LED Bulb will NOT flash again.  A lightbulb that has been successfully reset will not flash again after another reset.

Complete the setup process
Once the Wemo Link is successfully setup, the Wemo App will continue to scan for the Wemo® Smart LED Bulbs.  Wait until it finishes scanning before proceeding to the steps below:

NOTE:  If the lightbulbs cannot be detected, skip the scanning process and then update your Wemo Link before retrying to pair it with the lightbulbs.  To learn how to update your Wemo device, click here.
Step 1:  Once the lightbulbs are detected, they will appear in the list with a check mark.  Tap Add.  If you do not want to add a lightbulb, just tap it to uncheck.
QUICK TIP:  By default, they will appear in order as detected by the name, Lightbulb 01, Lightbulb 02 and so on.

NOTE:  When a lightbulb has been detected, you will see it flash for a few seconds.

Step 2:  Tap Name to rename these lightbulbs for you to determine which lightbulb is connected to a specific device.  Tap Done > Save.
NOTE:  You can skip and rename these lightbulbs at a later time if you want to.

The lightbulbs that are linked to a Wemo Link will appear in the Devices tab. 
You should have successfully setup your Wemo® Smart LED Bulbs by now.
