NIAP stands for National Information Assurance Partnership, and is a US government sponsored program based within the NSA that formulates specific requirements and recommendations to secure nearly every aspect of computing environments.
Common Criteria, short for The Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation, is the driving force for the widest available mutual recognition of secure IT products.

2. Active Anti-Tamper features are built into the KVM that constantly check for chassis or electrical intrusion attempts. If an event is detected, the KVM will immediately enter a tamper evident state and become unusable, protecting any connected equipment from intrusion.
Yes, the F1DN008KBD will work as a keyboard and a remote control with the Belkin 2nd Gen Universal Secure KVM’s. The F1DN008KBD features illuminated keys that mimic the color settings set for each channel on the KVM front panel. Yes. When using the extenders with the universal KVM, connect the extenders to the KVM first and then connect the equipment to the extenders. Power on the extender before powering on the KVM to ensure full functionality.
No. NIAP regulations forbid the usage of USB hubs and they have been blocked in the KVM. This block cannot be removed. When connecting a USB hub the status LED next to the USB port you are connecting to will illuminate red to show the hub has been blocked.
No. NIAP regulations block 2-way communication between the devices connected to your KVM and your computer. All USB ports on the KVM are low-speed ports and will not support high data bandwidth devices.

Yes. The Belkin 2nd Gen Universal Secure KVM will support Ultrawide monitors as long as the resolution is below 3840x2160 @60hz. Most common ultrawide monitors will come in below these pixel counts. When connecting an ultrawide monitor to your KVM you will need to use an HDMI cable. DisplayPort connections may not display correctly with Ultrawide monitors.
Yes but it is recommended that you check with your dock manufacturer for any required software and firmware updates first. Also check with your dock manufacturer regarding monitor and resolution support to ensure that your dock will support your displays.
No. The Belkin 2nd Gen Universal Secure KVM supports video input and output as both HDMI and DisplayPort connections. This allows you to input and output as either type of signal with the KVM handling the conversion.
Belkin Secure KVM’s support basic USB keyboards right out of the box. Keyboards with additional functionality such as hot keys and multimedia keys may not function unless used with a Belkin HID Filter. Keyboards with built in CAC card readers or USB hubs are not supported at all and will be rejected by the KVM’s security settings.
The Caps Lock, Scroll Lock and Number Lock keys on your keyboard require two-way communication between your keyboard and computer. For security, the KVM blocks these communication paths, which causes your keyboard to not illuminate when these functions are activated. Your Belkin 2nd Gen Universal Secure KVM features status LED’s on the front panel which illuminate to show these functions are active for the current channel. These are a per-channel illumination, and the KVM remembers the active status when switching.
Ultrawide monitors are compatible with the Belkin 2nd Gen Universal Secure KVM’s as long as the resolution specifications are under the 4K @ 60Hz maximum. Ultrawide monitors require a connection from the KVM to the monitor to be an HDMI connection. The connection from the host computer to the KVM does not impact the Ultrawide monitor performance.
Yes. Color change options are available in the Administrator Configuration Terminal allowing you to choose from 10 available colors for each channel.
CAC Freeze and Audio Freeze allow you to lock the audio output and CAC port (on CAC equipped models) to a single channel. Standard KVM operation changes both of these items when changing channels, but when locked to a channel they will remain that way until turned off or the KVM is power cycled.
Yes. A common scenario for this is a conference room installation where keyboard/mouse set is at a conference table and the other on a podium. Using two sets of Belkin KVM extenders, you can use two keyboards and two mice.
The most common reason for no video is improper power up of the KVM. The Belkin 2nd Gen Universal Secure KVM looks for display connections immediately upon power up. If it does not detect a displaly then no monitor information will be sent to the computer. The KVM should be powered off and then connect the displays. Power on the displays and choose the input connected to the KVM. After this power on the KVM. The EDID lights should be solid green within 10 seconds. If these are not solid green then the KVM is not detecting your displays and you will need to perform other troubleshooting.
The Belkin 2nd Gen Universal Secure KVM does not support adaptive refresh rates. For the best and most stable performance it is recommended to disable FreeSync and G-Sync in both your display and graphics settings before using the KVM.
